I really like the improvements they made with the wooden coaster. But there's something that has always puzzled me. I started seeing these steel cables run through the 4x6 bent post just below the handrail on some newer roller coasters. And now I see them in NO LIMITS 2. What purpose do they serve? It would seem to me that it's not a good idea drilling half inch holes through 4x6's on roller coasters. Water can enter those holes and rot out the wood. So the only purpose I see them serving is rotting out the wood. What say you?

They are for clipping the safety harnesses to when the maintenance crew do their daily inspection.

That's a question I am asking them now.
An email should have been sent out with your registration info, so you wouldn't lose it (even if the company deleted it from their servers).

The email should have came from noreply-eng@element5.com.

The subject should look something like this example from my receipt:

15.34 KB

If you can find it, you may still have a chance at receiving a discount (unless it needs to access that deleted server's data in order to verify the data).

I do hope this helps!

Notice for NoLimits Developers:
Both Microsoft and Apple have been taking action to help prevent users of Windows and Mac OS X from picking up any form of Malware (especially Apple, with their new GateKeeper feature on Mac OS X). If you are planning to distribute this software not just to Windows, but Mac OS X and iOS as well, you will need the Developer ID rights from each App Store for each platform. Posting directly to the App Store for each platform instead of just acquiring a Developer ID should guarantee that your sales records will not be deleted before your next major release. Please! You must have a Developer ID at least for the Mac and iOS App Stores to guarantee that you will not jailbreak any Macs or iDevices, as Apple does not allow any unauthorized apps to run on their hardware! You have been warned! I sincerely apologize if this forces you into the decision of delaying the release of NL2, but I felt as if none of you were aware of all this! [:(]

Not trying to be rude but since that was your first post on the site, you don't have much credibility here.
I have over 175 posts and I still don't have much credibility here.

And besides, the NL2 release is first for windows so the only thing delayed would be the Mac version and not the Windows version.

At least he is trying to help. besides, credibility isn't a number of post thing. There are users who have tonnes of crap posts and users with little but good posts...

I'm afraid it's no different with Microsoft Windows! They actually have a store for more content than just apps these days (a.k.a. Windows Store). Plus, developers that want their apps to run on Windows must pass what is called "Windows Logo Testing". Apps that don't pass that test are subject to a warning dialog (prior to installer launch) that the app may compromise your system before the app installer even runs, allowing you to abort the installation (especially if you are one that is concerned about Malware)! Just goes to prove that Mac OS X, iOS, and Windows are not in any way different these days, meaning the Windows version may also be subject to delays (if they don't pass that test)!

The e-mail address he mentions is legit. I have the e-mail myself but again, neither Phyter or Ole have mentioned anything about the discount since the info came out.

But one can assume you'll need NL1 proof of purchase.

Agreed! Since the Element5 database for NoLimits 1 was deleted because of 60 days of inactivity, you're going to need that proof of purchase in order to receive the discount now (if any)!

hi bjj0001, what I meant is I had my email address, I no longer used it for years, juno.com decided it was a dead account and wiped it. I can't access it anymore. I've tried to recuperate it or reregister again with no luck. So the email I bought nolimits with, I can no longer use.

bjj0001,
Sorry, I realize my post is really negative.
And now reading your post again, I realize you were trying to help. so sorry about that.
I see where you are coming from, I am assuming/hoping Ole, Phyter, and Ride_Op have taken care of this for Windows at least by now, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Honestly, I think that when you go to buy the game, to get your discount, you will enter your registration email and serial code into a form and it will apply the discount to your order. Also, each email and serial code can only be used once to get the discount, and limit one discounted copy per order.

"juno.com"?! Hmm?????????, let me try getting in contact with them, and see what I can do!

I would highly suggest you provide me with any reason why you didn't use your email account on juno.com for years, so that I can prove to them why you need this account information back!

If they claim that they don't have any archives to store deleted account information, I will do what I can to make sure they're put on everyone's blacklist, as an email host without public request-able backup archives for emergency purposes would be considered criminal, as hosts like it are likely trying to steal personal information! I absolutely cannot guarantee that this is the purpose of the email host, though!

Edit: OK, I can tell you now that juno.com's free email service will not respect your privacy completely! You're better off signing up for a free email account at Outlook.com powered by Microsoft! They have a reputation for that, and I have been using their service for quite a long time, even though as undergone many evolutions. (Their service originally started as MSN Account and MSN Hotmail. Many years later, that name change to Windows Live and Windows Live Hotmail. It was not that many years ago that they decided to change the service to Microsoft Account, and renamed the email service to Outlook.com.) If you need a new email account, I highly suggest you go with Outlook.com! However, even though they respect your privacy, they will wipe your email data after one year of inactivity, unless you subscribe to Ad-Free Outlook.com, which comes with no email service expiration, and no ads, but it costs $19.95/year to maintain.

I do hope this information helps, and I sincerely apologize for all that you've been through! But?????????, understanding that Juno will not respect your privacy or allow email expiration exceptions, I strongly recommend that you do not ever go back to them!

Element5 by Digital River Inc. deleted the purchase history records for NL1 due to 60 days of inactivity on the developers' account (according to their Terms of Service). Because of this, your Registration Key and Serial Number won't be enough to help you get a discount (without the original Proof of Purchase receipt email).

Development team,
Is the screencapture style you've displayed in your most recent cover photo of the suspended and in this tweet pic.twitter.com/NCaiT5WDNC going to be available for us to use in the release? That is, the way it is focused in the foreground and blurs out as distance increases, as if taken with a professional camera. Or are both of those images photoshopped?

I'm honestly not too concerned about a discount. I've since lost all my original NL information, but $46 is not all that much and only a slight increase from it's original price. Especially if you factor in inflation since NL's original release.

yeah I use my self hosted email now, coastercrazy.com xD I also use yahoo, I love it. I have outlook and gmail accounts but don't use much. I'm not worried about me getting a discount, there's hundreds/thousands of others thought would be interested if the discount is even offered. So far there's no official word that there will be an discount, there's just official word that there might be.

Yea I am not gonna tinker around for a day waiting to get a $5-10 discount.
I would feel like I am cheating them out of money they deserve.
If I can get the discount without waiting any extra time, I'll do it.
Otherwise, I'll forget about it.

I personally don't care for the discount, I'm paying full price either way.

All you need is your billing address and email that you used to purchase NL for proof of ownership. I provided them with this and they provided me with my registration key and a new link to download the software (NL1.7)!

I bought NL1 on 15th July 2011 and never really logged in after that, just searched my mail and went back to the site, it does say element5 and I could just resend my registration details to my email and then make new password and account still works after 2.5 years of not being used. I don't have too much worries about the linking and verification of data :)

Kyle, maybe I missed something, but why are you photoshopping images that they've already released? I simply don't understand what you're trying to do.
