Has anyone figured out an easy way to import custom scenery and objects after importing the track?
For example, I am trying to import Real's TTD and since no custom scenery or objects are loaded, it's so empty, track without supports basically.
Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do it. Object textures should appear fine as long as you maintain the same folder structure (and thus file reference) as in NL1. However scaling will be an issue.

Fortunately there are some things you can do to reduce your work load. You can adjust the relative scale of each object in the NL2 editor. But let's say you have a bench object, and you want many of these bench objects in the scene. It would be a pain to have to adjust the scale for each bench. Instead you can assign the .3DS file to a Scenery Object (.NL2SCO) file.

To do this go to Scenery -> NL2SCO Editor. In the General tab, select the 3DS file for the scenery object. Then in the Scale tab you can adjust the relative scale for the object. When you add the .NL2SCO object to the scene, rather than the .3DS object, the object will appear at the proper scale. And because the .NL2SCO is an instance, not a copy, when you modify the .NL2SCO properties all of the benches in the scene will update with those changes.

Why do any catwalk buildings get really messed up?

Scaling hasn't been an issue at all for me. My .3ds files exported from SketchUp work exactly as they did in NL1.

I keep getting a "cant read XML-file" error. what am I missing?
I can use them in my scene but I get the error if I try to edit.

Talking of scenery. is there any way to actually export the track and terrain to 3ds? I remember hearing/reading that pro allows designer cad software to be imported by some means but the construction kit Tia made was an excellent tool for me.
