Because of lack of funding, I am currently unable to purchase the full version of NL2, which actually puts me at an advantage, more or less. I am on the fence, still, about whether to purchase the Pro or Standard license for the full version. I would appreciate any input regarding the pros and cons of each one. If you vote I would appreciate a little input as to your decision.

Standard version. Wait until the NL Dev Team addresses a few serious simulator problems before investing that much money in it. There are dozens of issues that need to be fixed up.

That's what I have noticed. The program is definitely an improvement from NL1, but even in the demo I have noticed some difficulties in the execution of the program.

I brought the Pro.. but only because i have the extra cash and want to support the Dev Team. However I voted "Standard" in the above poll.

Tbh, the only difference is password protection on tracks, something i doubt you will ever use, and video output.. which Fraps (video) / Print Screen / Ingame Shortcut K (photos) can capture just as well.

I also brought pro because i was thinking the Dev Team MIGHT do something in the future more exclusive to pro.. but i doubt there will ever be any differences to the ones listed above

I bought the pro license for the same reasons as Casper. I'll download software from companies like Autodesk for free and crack them etc. But as far as independent developers go, Ole and his small team have given me a lot of enjoyment over the last 11 years, and have put a lot of effort in to making sure that continues with NL2. I am happy to pay over the odds for this.

It's really up to you, though, of course. If you're not really in a position to go for the Pro version, but can get the standard, go for it. Like Casper said, it's not like you're going to be missing out on a great deal in terms of the software.

Go professional, Ole and team spent many years on creating this product. I feel that with the professional there will be more styles released earlier to a person who goes pro. This is a high end simulator so you will need a fast video card. Msi Gforce Gtx 760 holds stands for this program running tango at 60+ frames a second. Colors and visuals will blow you away. I will add a wants and issues section to the forum so the developers can see what types of issues and wants people would like in future updates.

Personally went for the Standard as it's been a bit of an expensive month or so. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade in the future for the difference of price (As I too wish to support the developers despite not requiring any of the "Pro" features)

Its kind of funny that people are buying the professional version out of compassion. If they needed the cash, I'm sure they would only release one version at the higher price.

Go for the standard version and perhaps contact them about upgrading in the future by paying the difference, if you ever need to.

According to the devs a while ago, you could always upgrade from standard to pro (I assume for the price difference). If you're low on cash, you may as well just get standard and then upgrade later.

I think I saw you could upgrade it from a link in the software itself. It seems unneccesarry to buy the pro version if you just need the standard features. But its your wallet.

Go Standard. They have zero problems with cashflow right now. Also, as stunning as NL2 is, it really seems like it was made more for industry use now and the community was sort of placed on the back burner.

As you can see from tthe demo, the visuals, tech, specs and codes, makes NL1 look like 1980's Atari. But when it came to adding actual new usable ridable content, it falls way short. Like missing 11 years of wishlists and topics about what the community hoped to see added short XD. I would wait to see how and when updates happen and go with Standard. The mechinics are well worth the price inspite of not much new usable content in tterms of tracks, but pro isn't worth it IMO unless you are planning on keeping your designs secure and exporting from the program

The mechanics of the game are the same whether you get Standard or Pro. The professional version is useful if you are planning to take screenshots or make videos of your rides that can be made exactly the same by using the standard version.

It bothers me that people are bashing NL2 for a "lack of content." From my experience so far, the design aspects and graphics are vastly improved from the NL1, which was their original goal. There is more than enough content (old and new) to keep you busy for a long time.

Phyter said they felt they needed to get the sim out, so they only did so much for track styles and will be adding more through updates etc. I can't complain at all, 4D and B&M Flyers, baby! Hope the Wing Rider comes soon too.

And now to topic, if you can't afford the 99, get standard, upgrade later. But I clicked on Watch the NFL Playoffs instead, lol.
