Yeah they mentioned they have problems with their html renderer. No issues here though, so idk.

It was possible in NL1 (F11 key) so I hope it's possible in NL2 to.
f4, check the help files.

Probably going to be buying the full version soon, can't wait. I've made a few things in the editor, it's amazing how easy it is to make elements by hand, especially after being away from NL for so long (maybe that actually helps here, starting from scratch...) Anyway does the full version come with more example tracks included than the demo? Like that schwarzkopf with the scripted lights and flat rides, I'd love to check that out.

Perhaps rendering the track spine, part of the rails, or something like that is part of what they consider supports. You should read what's in the link below. Sim City 4 has a really specific loading screen you'd like a whole ton more:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/561176-simcity-4/faqs/22135

These manipulative descriptions are an outrage for such a prestigious piece of software catered toward its market of extreme intellectuals. You should tell Dj-dj that he never did anything good in the game according to you again to really drive home your point and establish yourself as the alpha male. Buy a Jeep while you're at it. You'll need it to drive over twigs and leaves on a suburban forest road 1/4 of the year. Hell maybe something besides a grocery bag will end up in the back seat once.

ITT:
1.) People with stratospheric egos who cannot accept that they haven't instantaneously mastered a brand new building method.

2.) People with real computer issues

Shame #2 isn't the most prevalent of the two from what I can see. I'm aware I have an outside perspective since there is no way I could run the game on my computer and haven't been emotionally invested in this release, but grow the hell up. Maybe you guys could have your parents write an angry letter to the NL team like they did when you were in school to help you get ahead.
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

I'm a aware of this, but I meant just a keypress to switch to manual dispatch... Now you have to open F4, select station and then switch to manual dispatch by clicking on it, is it possible with just a single key-pres?

-Does the simulator really not have a reset simulation function? Someone please tell me that it does. This is literally one of the most basic features, but it makes a huge difference during the testing and development of a ride... Ugh

-Why does a chain-lift automatically release at the end when in shuttle mode? Maybe I'm missing something... That makes for an unnecessarily complicated testing process, something that didn't occur in NL1. Again, the lack of a feature that is basic and already existing in NL1 makes a huge difference. Why did the development team even remove features? From a logical standpoint, it would have been most beneficial to keep existing features. And by 'logical,' I mean 'financial,' because I paid one hundred mother phucking dollars for this chit.

Use Full Manual mode to test the ride without using Shuttle Mode.

One thing I am hating about NL2 is how you cannot edit tracks you have downloaded. One small mistake (or large!) by the designer and you are stuck with it.
E.g. people forgetting to unlock their suspended coaster swinging. People only having 1 train on the track instead of two. Transport wheels feel slightly too fast. Lift speeds. All this stuff.

I used to love downloading coasters and making small edits myself, now we're stuck...

No one is stopping you and my inversions from NL1 works perfectly fine.

When I import any inversions they come out with vertices "wobbling"

Can someone make me a animated ridable 3ds Japanese Ferris wheel like this one?

Image

I want it to move extremely slow. The wheel's cars should be all enter-able while the wheel is in motion.

I want it to run at this wheel's speed.

I've finally worked out how to get the stations and the lift to do exactly what I want, although it seems like a bit of long winded process in comparison to NL1.

I love creating the rest of the track, though. Using the force comb etc. I also much prefer that you can now choose specific points of the track to alter the roll/banking, without affect the position of the spline.

Created a B&M invert zero-g in about 10 minutes, that rides absolutely perfectly. Something I was never able to really achieve on NL1.

Now, thanks to Kev, I have the sim working really well on my computer, and now that I've got used to the editor some more - I'm really enjoying this!

How did you get the stripe???

I apologize if my question has already been answered. I've been reading most of the posts here but I haven't seen the dimensions of the work environment of NL2. NL1 had a height of 150 meters and a square area of 440 meters. What's the area in NL2?

Way bigger.... somethning like 500x1600x1600. To give you an idea, the build area is 16x16 squares full zoomed out on default settings, and the Kumba recreation fits in a 2x2 grid square area with room to spare.

No problemo... Glad to help. By the way, that zero g roll looks great! I finally broke down and bought this today, but farked if I know how to do anything in it yet. Then again, It's been so long that I don't even remember how to use NL either. [lol]

To be more precise, 5038ft x 5038ft x 1640ft

ExTraxYz:

Use the Pipette feature for the easiest color picking. Bring up a photo or picture of the color you want. In NL2 on the color screen, click and hold on the Pipette box, then drag over to any spot on your screen that has the color you want. NL2 will capture that color for you.

gouldy:

I'm not sure why you're getting that problem. Try changing that segment back to normal track then back to a brake again. The stranger thing is that both Block Brake and Trim Brake are grayed out too. If you continue to have problems you'll have to post the file for others to look at.

dragon2000:

If you downloaded a file saved as .nl2pkg, you can't edit it until you unpack it. Open it in the editor, go to File, choose Extract Package. Then you can edit it as long as there isn't a password protecting the file. I gotta wonder, why are you getting upset that you can't fix other people's mistakes? Forgetting to unlock the swinging is one thing, but if someone wants slow transport wheels isn't that their decision?

Jakizle:

Stripe options for B&M styles are found under Coaster Properties, Colors Tab, Spine Color Scheme.

Trackwalker:

To put the size in perspective, you can fit all of Disneyland, California Adventure, and Knott's into a single NL2 park file's build area.

I've seen a few complaints about spending $100 on NL2. Let's just see what $100 bucks really is. At minimum wage here in the good old USA, say $8.00 an hour to make the calculations easy, 100 smakaroos is equivalant to 12 and 1/2 hours of labor. Fill up your gas tank in your automobile twice and you have spent $100. I just bought a pair of non-skid shoes for my work place and they cost me $175. So $100 is a lot of money but considering you can make that in about 12.5 hours, it's not really all that much.

If anyone's interested, here's a nl2 formula element for making the start and ends of lift hills, it's basically a copy of the one in NL Elementary with a few changes. Download. I love NL2, barely have any complaints, it's really outstanding.

Thanks TylerE and Ride Op for those size statistics. I was thinking about the Sidhue suspension bridge or the Aizhai suspension bridge Cool5. I think the Sidhue is the world's highest but the Aizhai is pretty awesome also and both are in China. With a height of 1,640 feet to work with, the Sidhue or Aizhai will be a piece of cake.

But first I have to use my neighbor's computer to download NL2 because I only have a telephone hook-up to the Internet and I only get a max download speed of 4 kilobytes a second. Uuugh!!!!!

Edit:
Pronunciation of the two China bridges:
Sidhue = SEED-who
Aizhai = EYE-jeye where eye is pronounced like English "eye."
and "j" like the "j" in JUST.
Accent is on the first syllable.

The Sidhue suspension bridge is 460 meters high and is the highest bridge in the world.

Take out for rent, transportation, food, clothing, hygiene, health care, income tax and other basic necessities then that $100 evaporates rather quickly. Nonskid shoes are an investment that'll keep you safe at work. nl is just entertainment for 99.9% of the people. Keep in mine, entertainment isn't a basic necessity. No dissing on the price of nl, just saying people have other priorities first and can help understand the sentiment of many.

Yes, I agree Oscar. We have to keep our prioities in mind. First the taxes and rent and if anything is left over, which is very little, then we can have a little fun with NL2.

I'm not gonna get NL2 until after finals for obvious reasons. I'd also like to wait and see how the bugs get sorted out first. But you're right NL2 is just entertainment and not a need.
