Try taking off the bindings and sitting on it and sledding down a snowy hill.

lol that's a cute board, it's kind of like the one I lend to my students when I teach people how to snowboard

a 2013 burton model that I haven't ridden yet haha, I'll be breaking it in this month. I also have a trainer board as I've said and the board that I used to compete with is a Ross.

Looks nice. I'd like to try snowboarding and skiing one day but I'm vehemently opposed to the cold.

^Go in the Spring when it is warmer. The snow might be crappier, but it won't be balls cold.

I'll get to the nearest hill and give it a whirl. Oh wait, that "hill" is a pile of rotting garbage with a golf course on top because Illinois.

What kind of competitions?. I like to ride really fast, like anything over 80kms. Thats why I got the magne-traction for hitting ice patches at high speed. And it really works. The edge hold on this board is insane. And the double camber with inverted camber really hooks up awesome as well. This is by far the best deck I have ever ridden.

I recently got skis that I've only used out in Indiana this year. I can't wait to try them in Colorado again this year on something other than spherical ice BB pellets.

Everyone else in my family has rocker with their powder/all-mountain-powder skis. I'm too much of a sucker for speed though, so I just loving having me some traditional camber (granted, these skis do have about 15% rocker so they don't treat powder like quicksand). I also felt like this was a smart choice because I live in Kentucky where pellet ice-BB's are the norm, so I like knowing that I have something more suited for that.

I have to say, I tried the Volkl Mantra's last year at Jackson Hole and they impressed me because they could handle such a variety of situations - but they just can't quite compare to confidence-inspiring grab and pop from some great groomer skis. Powder is fine so long as there's some corduroy printed on it. [:)] Dem g-forces man.

Plus I'm short, so anything with +95" waist kinda makes me feel like I can't get on edge easily. I can't stand the feeling of planks on a perfectly groomed slope - so much wasted opportunity to recreate your favorite roller coaster manufacturers on snow. I swear to god I feel like I can alter my heartline when I change styles of turns.

I dare you to call me a dork lol.

I pretty much swear by my current Burton board. It's reliable, comfortable, and flexible. I'd recommend, however they can definitely be pricey.

I'm no expert but learning to surfboard on a snowboard is going to be pretty difficult.
