And anyone who had purchased a Corvette, but wants an automatic gearbox, has purchased a Corvette for all of the wrong reasons.
NL2 is vastly better than NL1.8. Yes, the editor is different, and yes this means you need to relearn how to use the software. But no, this doesn't mean that the software isn't better then the predecessor.
The way you build in NL2 makes infinitely more sense than in 1.8, once you've got to grips with it. Some elements were more simple in the previous software, like stations, for example - but that's an unavoidable consequence of the new building system, which is vastly better for the other 95% of the track.
Maybe it is a bit of a ball-ache having to relearn how to build using the software, but surely this is hugely outweighed by how much better your tracks will be than on NL1 having learned the new improved construction system in NL2, and all of the other new features on top of that.
tl;dr: Take the time to learn the new software to the point where you feel comfortable using it again, and you'll be having a greatly better experience than you were with the previous software.
