I'll keep this short and sweet because it's a pretty simple question. I feel like in 90% of rides I work on, there's at least one spot where a bunch of supports are really close together (sometimes many more than one spot if it's a really compact track).

I've been trying to find pictures but not having a ton of luck; do real-life supports ever share footers? Are there certain circumstances in which this is more common? Do certain manufacturers do it more often than others?

I'm just asking because there are times at which it seems to make sense for two supports to share the same footer, but it's not that hard to do it some other way if it's gonna blow the realism.

I don't know if its common practice, but Storm Runner, Nitro definitely have supports that share footers.
What are these for?

only example I can think of would be maverick's air hill.

There might be a few other I don't know about, but I think it's pretty rare.

Turbo, I'll try to post some pics ASAP but it's really not one particular ride, like I said it seems to come up pretty often for me, especially as I like compact layouts.

My opinion is, it's been done at least once, that's a precedent. It's rare, but as long as it makes sense in the layout, go for it. I mean don't have one anchor and a spiderweb of supports coming off of it, but sharing supports just seems to be rare not forbidden.
