It's another one of those ports where I take one of my No Limits 1.x rides and not only convert it to NL2, but make major improvements as well.

Image

Firefly NL2 Edition like previous ports will have several improvements as well as changes to keep it fresh. This time there haven't been any major changes to the ride layout but the 3D model has been slimmed down tremendously...It's been separated into three objects and the tunnels (both below the station and 2nd launch) have been removed and replaced with NL2 landscaping/tunnels. I haven't decided on this yet but I may setup a load/unload station to fit NL2's block system better.....If someone can help me with possibly setting up the "maverick script" I'd really appreciate it.

Keep in mind that this coaster remains a fantasy style....I originally described it as a rule-breaker and ridiculous. So don't down-rate me on the fact it's not realistic at all.

List of changes so far:
*Lot more landscaping similar to what you saw in Apocalypse NL2
*The Queue has been completely re-done
*Exit has been moved
*Custom station has been raised and edited to accommodate the new landscape
*A Queue house building has been added
*The sharp curve leading into the second launch has been fixed
*....and more to come as I find and fix the issues!

Not yet, been working on it all night....Sketchup is being a pain in the a$$ tonight.

When I do get some screenshots, the ride will literally have no supports.

edit: I'm working on uploading the screenshots to a image hosting site...but for now, you can use this link to my page to view them.

View from the station, you can already see the landscaping has made the ride completely new.

Image

Image

the new exit, although it doesn't have ramps anymore it does have a tunnel!

Image

The new Queue also interacts with the terrain, Firefly will have a forest like feel to it so this is just the start.

Image

Overall view of the new station.

Image

Station has been extended to include an unload.

Image

This building has seen the least amount of editing....the custom tracks have been removed and the glass window where the train enters has also been removed.

Image

New Queue house, the Firefly symbol has been removed from the station and has been modified for the new building.

The Firefly symbol has been moved and modified from the station to the queue. Offers a better view.

It has a long way to go. Needs rails throughout the entire Queue...fencing too. :)

I would like to see it in intamin style, but i looks good. I saw your first version video and it has a long and nice layout. I like the changes you have done, and I'm sure it will look much better in NL2. Looking forward to see more.

One diagonal fence down.....several to go.

Image

This one is from the bottom....you can also see my little stack of of brown rails by the tree. Fun fact: Those small pieces were copied nearly 500 times to make that diagonal fence!

Snow in April? That's Chicago for ya. Squeezed in some support work while I was at it.

Batwing again.

From the bottom.

New Entrance, new sign. More signage to come.

Another shot from the same spot....with supports this time....

Thought Raikiri at night was a performance killer? That is nothing compared to this. Firefly is pushing the limits of my sketchup talents and the shear amount of 3D on this thing is making it difficult to run during the day. I haven't even added lights yet.

These will be the only two lights with shadows on.

I modified the example spotlights to my own liking for these....

Looks excellent so far Goku. I like the glass queue line roof idea, and the layout looks neat so far.

Intamin tends to have support connectors on half loop connectors more than halfway up the loop, which is a bit non-traditional relative to other manufacturers. Look at Storm Runner and Fahrenheit at Hersheypark so you know what I mean. You may want to add another connection.

^If you want to see the entire layout you can download the original version on my profile.

The layout has not been changed in the NL2 edition in any way but the brakes and launches have been reconfigured without using transports. I have also fixed the ridiculous turn into the 2nd launch.

This coasters motto is "ridiculous". I'm not going for realism or anything of the sort. This layout is nothing close to intamins usual style. Especially after you get to the 2nd launch.

It's also a little hard to see in the night shot because of the tree....but the support with the "X" is on the upper half of the loop.

That's a hefty loop! I think the highest supports should maybe connect a bit closer to the track but otherwise looking very good!

I agree, the highest support should connect closer to the track.

Is this better? I moved the top closer and the footers further away. Rail Connectors moved up to match the closer support.

Condense the loops supports slightly. You're making them really really wide (in spacing) relative to the track.

I'll see what I can do on that. Due to how wide the loop is that may be difficult while still passing the envelope.
