Non-Enthusiasts Say The Darndest things...

About 10 years ago at Darien Lake (when it was still Six Flags) while waiting in line for Viper - "One of the trains got stuck at the top of the loop for like an hour today!"

Also while at Darien Lake - "Some guy broke his neck on the Mind Eraser (Vekoma SLC)" There may have been some degree of truth to this one.

One that always pissed me off...

Friend: Did you know there's a waterslide that has seat belts and you go upside down?"

Yea I remember years ago I road Mind Eraser at SF America, that thing definitely killed my neck.

Having worked at a Cedar Point I've heard all kinds of stupid comments. But the one that sticks in my head is so stupid it defies logic. One of the first things I heard from other employees when I worked my first season there was people asking "what time is the 10 o'clock laser light show?". I, in my naive age of 19, thought this couldn't possibly be true. then came the day when someone actually asked me the question. Took every ounce of willpower at that time to not walk away shaking my head.

More Stupidity: Struck a conversation with a creep (seemed to be an ACEr, but also a Cedar Fair fanboy) by Goliath and he blabbed on and on about what Goliath is competing with, the luke-warm reviews of X-Flight, (uhhh...?) and how they should remove the railroad for Goliath Queue lines. But wait, THERE'S more! He continued on to say that if Goliath doesn't save Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor they should sell the park to cedar fair because they'd know what to do with the park. There has never been more FAIL in a single conversation.

He's half-right, though. Action Park in New Jersey has/had a water slide that had a 360* vertical loop finale. I am not sure if or when it ever opened to the general public, but, yeah it happened.

I used to tell friends Raging Bull was only 15ft taller than American Eagle because wooden rides always look really short from the support density.

Totally worked to get people on the ride. Lies would be revealed mid-lift lol.

Actually, it did reopen, sort-of. It is the Mountain Creek resort. Decent looking resort, and much safer than the old action park. Looks like they replaced the alpine massacre( alpine slide) with an alpine coaster.

You should have replied "Sorry you can't appreciate good stupidity like me."

I need to carry a recorder with me that's always on and only saves audio clips when I click it when something stupid is said....Kinda like PS4's share button.

Yea but by the time you realize something dumb is being said and you click the button to start, then they have already said the dumb thing and you have missed it.
