anyone else sick of newbies uploading a bunch of RCT2 garbage with excitement ratings less than 8 that were made in 10 minutes? And does anyone that spends alot of time on their parks want a rating? respond and tell me. I feel that picking through the coaster garbage is becoming a huge problem on this site.

i agree with cjd. if your goin to upload a coaster, spend at least 1-2 days on it or more if its not a track. i wont mention any names or anything but i uploaded a very nice coaster that i think is one of my best and is a clasic one of mine and 0 downloads(its changed since then) and no rating. but i see a garbage coaster that took no creativity at all and was 2 min worth that has a rating already. thats just dumb[:(!]
and coaster garbage is becoming more and more common in RCT2 here!

I see a lot of RCT2 tracks that could be made in just a few minutes and aren't anything special at all. I agree that its getting annoying and if you are going to upload an RCT2 coaster you should spend time to actually make it good instead of an average track that anybody can make easily.

USE THE FORUMS! most of the people that upload stuff like that don't bother to advertise, so I would encourage everyone that actually makes serious RCT2 rides to please advertise so that we can all know what to rate.

I have seen some bad ones in my day but I would like everybody who is planning to get a good rate by me, the "RCT Guy",do the following...the coaster must have good g's, it must have something unique, something that would make me ride it over and over again, and have an Excitment Rating over 8 for at least a 9. For a 10 you gotta try to get the Excitment over 9 (or at least as close to it as possible) and the Insanity has to be in between 5 and 6. I would review this with an RCT coaster before you upload it on this site (It would be a waist of my time rating it).

Thank You

I almost never rate a rct2 coaster by it's ratings. It is so easy to make a ride with an exitment with 9 or bether, but the best builders don't care about the raiting (as long it isn't extrem). What if someone build a great kiddie coaster, with beautiful scenery but a Exitment raiting at 4. Would you rate it low then because of it's raitng, even though it is a great coaster?

A kiddie coaster I just rate it on how my sister (10 years old) would like it.

well im not sure if this one has anything to do w/ my sons, but I will be honest w/ you I had asked for total critism on it. He did spend a while on it but it was a ride he saved a while back. well anyways, another issue was I put the wrong name on it but he comfronted me w/ that lol. its actaully something to do w/ something green but I accidently put industrial Attack. [:D], The rating is 10.08 excitement

I personaly dont see the problem with everyone bashing coaster with intensity over 8. Imo i think a high intensity level is good, it seperates the 'millennium forces' from the 'TTD' [;)]

Also i think its to easy to make a coaster with a high excitment rating, i mean i coudl make a giga coaster in 5 mins make it 400ft out and back layout with lots of hills, and the excitement will be above

for my contest park, i managed to build a mine train coaster with an excitment of 8.03

yes, giga-coasters should be judged less on excitement, I agree. However, wouldn't your responce be "wow" if I uploaded a woodie with an excitement rating of, say, 10.01? most coasters types can be generally rated by excitement.

(oh, and by the way... you will see the 10.01 woodie in my contest park, along with an 11.66 giga.)

Glad you never saw my first rct park...i used all my loan, couldn't pay it back, and yet still reached my objective, LOL

Yes, I agree, crappy uploads are a disgrace to all excellent coaster designers and it is a large disgrace to WEEWEESLAp, he runs the site DUH

Please everybody don't just post stuff to get it rated, post stuff that is good!
thanx

I think my rides can make it without an advertisement lol. Devil's Breath Mine:Revenge scored a nice 9.28 but got bumped of the top of all time by the Guiness beer coaster(but that is one awesome ride).

If you want to know what to rate check out all of my coasters. I spent ages try to get each one right. The "Island Paradise" coaster I uploaded here is version 3, and "Royal Rumble XS" is from a series of royal rumble coasters (I made a coaster called XX that takes stylings from the royal rumble set).

Finally barely anyone has touched Colossal Rock V2 with a measly 5 downloads. In my opion its one of the best mine themed floorless's out there.

Ive got NL now so RCT2 coasters will be few and far between from now on but I still my make em when I feel like a break from NL.

don't worry, i'm not going to just rush on a coaster, and if it's not extreme, post it on the site w/ no scenery anymore. Sorry for that annoyance. I'm making a new park, so i think you'll like it.

Why would you not want to include the scenery? Anybody can make an RCT2 coaster without scenery

Its a shame that the quality of RCT2 rides isnt as good as other sites. Dont get me wrong there are the occasional coasters that make me stop and take a look but the majority are just a bit under average.

Also some people just keep posting average coaster after average coaster with no real sign of improvement from each one. It's nice to watch people improve with each design they make because it shows that they are making an effort.

rcf2000 just because a coaster doesnt have an excitement over 8 doesnt mean it's a bad coaster. As long as the stats all are reasonable then I dont care what they are. My "space pod" ( http://coastercrazy.com/track_exchange/ ... p?tid=2485) coaster doesnt have an excitement as high as 9 but the stats are still very good.

I think newbies just have to learn how to make stations and get used to theming rides. But mainly they have to learn how to make eye pleasing layouts and not giga's that just go up and down and up and down. Lord Gonchars Wyvern is an example of how to make a giga that is not just up and down
( http://games.coasterbuzz.com/filedetail ... ileID=1181 ).

This site covers a large range of people young and old so I expext a large range in styles and quality. I personaly don't mind all the lower quality rides but agree that people should spend time and tell them that in reviews. You can get a good idea from a screen shot if a ride is worth downloading, if you don't like it DON'T download it unless you want to help. So I encorage people to try whatever you can manage just spend time before you upload. Bardy.

i no this forum doesn't seem my place, what with this being my first post, but i have been playing rct since the week it came out, and the same with rct 2, so hear me out. I do agree that it must be annoying to be left behind while all the newbie rides are rated, but the reason for this is that many of you are extremely good at designing rides, and aware of it. New users have 2 learn the same as you did. I for example am still useless at on ride theming, and i've submitted rides 2 seek advice.

All i'm saying is be gentle lol, cos there's a learning curve.
