Seems strange that a coaster just derails, or that several wheels would fall off a coaster! Its not like the coaster is very old, infact is pretty new coaster.

At least it wasn't a tight and compact roller coaster like Mindbender, cause the it could have easly turn out much worse.

This is really weird, ever seen the bunch of metal which attaches the wheels to a coaster car? I can't imagine how that could ever break or how a several wheels could come of. If the coaster indeed was inspected daily they must have seen something strange. A set of wheels can't just come of, bolts must have been lose which should have been noticed by the park staff.
Maybe the guy who did the daily checkup wasn't too happy with his salary? [lol]

I saw a special on TV about the wheels on Steel Dragon. They are massive. The guy could barely pick one of them up. In USA, we use the old measurements so I don't know the weight of them. I think that article said 6 something.

article said 6 kilograms (13.2 lbs), which isn't much weight at all, maybe meant 60 kilograms (132 lbs)[?]

Either that or the Morgan Builder needs to "build" more if you know what I mean. [lol]

I don't think it's funny at all! In fact, I think it's quite pathetic that you would laugh at people getting hurt on a ride that we love so much!

Actually the upstop wheels are about 30 lbs and the side and ride wheels are about 15. I have it taped on "the making of a coaster" I just watched this morning!

i think lpth5 was jealous that little known coaster making japan could beat the US [;)]

Oblivion120 - Air rules???? [confused] i know everyone's entitled to there own opinion and imo it sucks, by far the worst rollercoaster at AT, id rather ride the corkscrew than air, espiecaly since theres never a 4 hour queue for corkscrew

corkscrew looks like it would have a ton of headbanging and would give you a headache, probably very rough too, and Air might be boring but i'd rather ride something boring but smooth than get a headache and not be able to enjoy the rest of my time at AT as much.

Viper at SFDL is the only smooth Arrow with no headbanging that I have been on.

If you know how to avoid the headbanging on the ride its a really cool and smooth coaster, you just got to ride it a ton of times and you'll find out how to avoid the headbanging and pain [;)]

that reminds me of dragon mountain at marineland niagra falls, in one of the tunnels at the bottom of a hill there is an extremely sudden turn, that really slams you around if your not expecting it. the rest of the ride is really cool though, and btw this ride also feachers a little trick track on one of the turns just before a tunnel that is really cool, but you can see that one and kinda brase for it.

i do ride viper alot, and i know how to make the headbanging stop, you just put your head on the side of the harness that you are about to go. then its smooth but i like smooth rides with no headbanging.
