Tight fit B&M dive machine contest

I'm going to consider fences a technical detail as they are critical to safety design (I.E. keeping people away from certain death).

Uggggggh! I have a good layout but I cant get it to run 4 trains safely! Back to the drawing board I guess...

Have you had a tinker with the station timing and lift / mcbr speeds etc? Might be worth adding in some additional end blocks to keep the train moving after the final brake run - there's nothing stopping you using a set of friction wheels for a block brake!

I would like to enter, but im not 100% on if ill have a finished track since I have two other projects at once.

Yea, with NL tournament and stuff and track tennis which was probably dumb of me to start at this time.
Ill probably bring it back a couple times a year since I got such positive participation in it.

Ok I'm in, and jusst for clarification, what are we considering transfer and storage tracks to be? Are they scenery and therefore either outside the template or are they consider part of the track and therefore have to be within the template?

Transfer tracks themselves must be inside the template if you choose to have them. The maintenance building is a technical detail and therefore does not have to be in or out of the template. If you choose to have the maintenance building outside the template, it is acceptable to have the final position of the transfer track outside the template. I hope that makes sense.

Just to double clarify: the track the train runs on during a continous circuit of the ride needs to be within the template when unfrozen. Any other track can be outside the template?

Correct. For example, if you have a maintenance shack on the transfer track on the final brake run, the shack and track inside the shack may be outside the template because it is not part of the rider experience.

I hate to do this but I'm gonna withdrawal. I just need more experience with FVD++ first before I can try building something in such a tight space. I know it doesn't have to be made in FVD++ but I can't hand build for my life and Newton 2 doesn't import into NL2 very well.

I think you should try to give it a shot, but if you don't feel you're comfortable enough to make something, keep practicing!

Hate to drop out too - My layout needs a complete rework and I'm not gonna be here for the most part of this week Probably drop what I had in the scrapyard later this week!

That's a damn shame.

About 45 seconds from lift to station and still managed to get 4 trains safely. Just gotta tie up some loose ends and supports and I'll have completed my ride

When you upload your entries, use the tag [Dive] so everyone can find the tracks easily.

quick question before I finish this up, is it just the track that can't go through the fence or does that include supports too

woooooooow. I totally thought this was a different contest. I didn't realize until the upload we could use the WHOLE area, I thought the coaster had to fit in the smaller area with half the station outside. WELP I'm building a super record breaker lol. Let's see if I can have it ready in two days XD

Looks like your track is going through the fence area. Might want to fix that.
