Kingdom of the Dinosaurs Remake Possible @Knotts Berry Farm

Yesterday during media day, we caught wind of a possible remake to Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. This of course was neither confirmed or denied by Knotts or anyone related to Knotts.

However give the success that the animatronic additions have brought to Log Ride and Calico Mine Ride, there is a very good possibility that they might just bring it back and make it an epic dark ride.

From what I saw today, there is some sort of activity going on up there. I couldn't tell you exactly what, however, it wasn't a regular employee poking around up there. That said, work may have already started on it and it just hasn't been announced publicly.

If this comes back, I think it would be a wise move on Cedar Fair's behalf to do it. It does look like they are trying to restore all the classic rides and while Kingdom of the Dinosaurs may not be considered a classic to many, it would make sense for them to renovate it and open it up. According to Westcoaster, a welding accident inside the old Kingdom of the Dinosaurs sparked a fire and it did major damage to that defunct attraction as well as severely damaging the arcade and the Johnny Rockets restaurants.

This confirms that work is indeed going on inside Kingdom of the Dinosaurs and now who knows how long will this delay the opening of that project. Stay tuned for further news, pictures will likely come tomorrow as I'll be able to make it out there then

But at least this confirms stuff was going on in there, but now there could be another year of waiting for this.

In a recent interview with Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet, he is candid about their desire to find a worthy attraction to go into the former Kingdom of the Dinosaurs building at Knott's, seen above. He makes mention that depending on how Wonder Mountain's Guardian "works out" at Canada's Wonderland there could be "lessons that we learned" that could be applied to Knott's. While a dark ride has been rumored to go into the building for years now, this is the first time we've seen such a strong confirmation.
