According to Screamscape and this article, (link is below) S&S Worldwide has announced it will build it's first 4D coaster next year. They have already disclosed the details; It will cost $7 million, reach 38 mph, and have 1,265 feet of track. The stats may seem a bit tame, but they insist that this is just a prototype; It is to be,"a more family-friendly ride with more variability where with each time you ride it you get a different experience" as stated by Mike Worley, senior mechaninal engineer. It's going through prototype testing at the moment, and uses eddy-current brakes to force or retard spins. Keep in mind, this is the same technology used in magnetic brakes, which were pioneered by Intamin. S&S Worldwide haven't said where the ride will be built specifically. They only disclosed that it will be built in North America.
Personally I think this is awesome and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Who knows? Maybe B&M may be next to follow! What do you think?
