does anybody think that there should be a water coaster simulation, so that you can build log flumes, shoot-the-chutes, verticle shoot-the-chutes, river rapids, etc? I'm just wondering if you guys think there should be one aswell. i have wanted one for ages, a really good one with lots of detail, realistic sounds and features like log flume turn arounds, make waves and waterfalls on river rapids, etc

I think they do, but none of the rides in that game are realistic.

um...i think any new stuff they put in their update would be cool. some stuff i would like to see is 4d coaster, and water rides. But water rides would be hard, imagine trying to make realistic water flowing, and the realistic foam and splashes when there is a drop. Imagin trying to get the the sounds...i could just see one of the NL team with a microphone plonked onto the car of priates of the carabien...lol [lol]

Well, with Direct X - Technologie it's maybe createable. But in the time between the update for waterrides at NoLimits you can dirve with my recration of the watercoaster Poseidon which original is in the Europa Park.

OpenGL works too... Newer cards have hardware PROGRAMMABLE vertex and pixel shaders (or in ARB extensions, GL_ARB_VERTEX_PROGRAM and GL_ARB_FRAGMENT_PROGRAM) There are utilities to see if ur cards run them... they are also in vendor-specific exts tho...

BTW bino... thats a double post... Can one of them!?

The water coaster sim is called Wild Rides, and it is made by the same people who made Ultimate Ride. I've been having a hard time finding it here in MN. I'm going to search Amazon.com and see if they have it. There are some members at modstothemax.net that are making water rides for the UR games, if you have those you should check it out. I don't know if it would be possible to make water rides in SM, HR, or NL.

also water coasters![:D] and when a coaster passes fast over water in SM or NL, there's a splash behind the train[:)]that would be awesome. but it'd be easier designing coasters and riding em in real life[;)]

To zan-> yes, but if i want to step to non-vendor-specific, I'll have to upgrade from Radeon9200 to 9800 i guess...

Well I was in walmart today and happen across wild rides, but to me it looks more like a water slide type game, also for screen shots I just did a search on google and came across the game and some pics
