if you're bored, then are you gonna spam
that's with everybody!

Not really, most people would find something interesting to do.[approve]

Please stop your spamming, it is bad for the site.

Weeweeslap is having difficulty funding the sites bandwidth costs, and posting pointless messages over and over drives these costs up needlessly. One message may not seem like a big deal, but the cumulative effect can be quite problem if it gets out of hand.

It is also very annoying (as MOP pointed out so eloquently[;)]).

So please stop spamming, and try to make your posts relevant.

It would still be your "work"..

I love it.. It just makes the tiny bumps go away.. Doesnt change anything to a point your like " it was overdone " or whatnot. *two thumbs up*

Fantastic work buster. I wish you good luck with your program. If it was just me i would say it deserves to be implemented into the NoLimits Software. For best use it should be able to mark elements or parts of the track in the editor and then click for smoothing just these parts. [:X][:D]

Hey Buster, could u possibly make one for HR. With all the good comments, I'd love to be able to use it w/ HR. Especially since HR is kinda rough no matter what.Pleeeaaassse?[:)]

No. As I don't have any other sim apart from NL... Also I don't know the data they use, so that makes it impossible.

Buster.

The reason you don't see all these little tools for SM all boils down to 1 thing. SM uses compression for their track files. There is a small header section that allows websites to get information about the contents of the track file and then there is the actual track, supports, scenery, and so-on information which is compressed. You will never see any little tools for SM until the guys that make SM release a track file format and compression method document to allow us to get into a SM track file and tweak it around.

It's quite simple, and it would be very obvious if you studied the format. SM uses Bzip2 compression. The first few hundred bytes are uncompressed. Just look for the Bzip2 header and start decompressing from there.

To add a little bit to this, I'm pretty sure that SM already has automatic track smoothing capabilities built into it. I'm not 100% certain of this though, so don't quote me.

Kev: Yes and no. SM tracks are smoother than NL, and it does do some smoothing, but in a different way. Basically it eliminates the little jerks at each vertex, but it's very different than Buster's app, which actually moves control points.

I knew there was something that SM did that was different, but wasn't sure what it was. Thanks for the explanation. [:)]
