I get the feeling it won't be an RMC. It seems like they have their hands full at the moment with TC, WC, and Wildfire. I too think that they will revamp it themselves

Choosing from that list, a dark ride is definitely the most plausible for Cedar Point right now. Everything else seems absolutely ridiculous at this point in time. I also believe the dark ride adds up considering that CP just lost their only dark ride experience, Disaster Transport!

Like GCI and cyclone, while its not the same thing as what RMC does it does have the same effect in making the coaster better.

No. It's not the same effect =P

I'm in school but this forum bypasses the firewall so I'll chime in around lunch (I have it when the announcement is being made!)

They're not going to demolish it... they're going to floorlessize it.

Cedar Point Tease: Mantis Gets Squashed Obtober 19th

My honest opinion it means it gets squashed from a stand up to a floorless! As we have been predicting for the longest!

Yeah lol b&ms don't ever get the boot. It's gonna be squashed down to a floorless. Which I think will make it an actually incredible ride finally.

I wonder if there will be a new train design, or if it'll just be standard floorless or sitdown trains plopped on the circuit. I also wonder if this will start a new conversion trend for the B&M stand ups.

I want to see a floorless train where the first 4 rows face forward and the last 4 rows face backwards.

They are going to put it in a building with fog and styrofoam cutouts. Seriously though I think whatever is going down is more than just a train switch if it's not even open until the end of the season

It's only 12 days. They probably really wanna get going with painting or station transformation. Maybe some extra theming artifacts and a brand new sign and name but I think the brunt of the project is just a new floorless train lol. We'll most likely see a newly fabricated train since they don't currently have any extras lying around. Probably with the new restraints.

Give that that this announcement pretty much seals the deal that Mantis is becoming a floorless roller coaster, lets continue the discussion on the following established thread:
