Cedar Point Tease: Mantis Gets Squashed Obtober 19th

My honest opinion it means it gets squashed from a stand up to a floorless! As we have been predicting for the longest!

they better get another coaster. Move it to Vallyfair! or WoF and get a new coaster. I guess I won't walk out on CP since they are not rmc-ing Mean Streak but UGH. I love Mantis XD

Well now we have to wait until the 19th for confirmation.

nah. They won't REALLY announce until postseason I believe. I think they are just giving heads up for last rides at this point

Notice how the woman is holding the restraints. I definitely implies it. If it were a new coaster, this process should have occurred a while ago. My first thought was another banshee the original owner has returned to take the coaster back. They also want to announce during halloweekend it seems. Two banshees in Ohio seems unlikely. Centurion or rougarou of I guess.

Maybe if they convert it to floorless they'll change the name too? Since the video had a reaper, maybe they might change it back to Banshee?

You're right. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that we can't be sure of anything anymore in terms of what rides are staying. Visual impressiveness and whether or not it's a signature attraction are completely irrelevant. If they thought dismantling and relocating Millennium Force would somehow be beneficial for the long-term, they would do it.

I'm not. I hope not XD. They have very much initiated the Six Flags Self-destruct protocol years ago.

1. Ruin their rides
2. Alienate fans and GP
3. Start ride rotation program
4. Close parks without warning

For it to move would free up a lot of space and the course kind of blocks off a huge chunk of land to be in the center of the park. I really don't see the point in a third floorless ride that does the same thing as the other two

^^^ Dont tease with something like that, Dorney needs a new coaster, but not a stand up
What are these for?

I'm wondering if they're keeping their word on the whole "King James" bit.

Why not a sit down? No complaints there either, less station work as well.

Could argue the heartline fo the floorless is a lot closer than the heartline for the sitdown - making it less practical. Also experiencing Mantis as a sit down? Not sure its enough of a marketing pull...

Based on the tweet from Dorney, I am actually doubting it will remain. Maybe it is leaving... :(

They could just give them the same sitdown trains from Wildfire

They did very well with the announcement! Can't wait for the rest of the details to be released :)

It better not be option 3. None are selected as urgent though. Hopefully that implies none of those are happening. Thanks again Tony Clark.

Cedar Point gets new Strata coaster that stays around mantis for the remainder of the ride and they will name it Foot. Anyone else have awesome out of the box ideas?

I think they'll relocate it to Knotts Berry Farm

They may have to modify the trains slightly to accommodate for the change in heartline, but the heartline of riders on a stand-up coaster is incredibly varied to begin with, so it's not like it matters enough to warrant a drastic change in the design of the trains.

Mantis is definitely being relocated. There's no way it's staying.

Wow, really cool stuff here, if Mantis gets relocated to Dorney, I am going to kill someone. That is worse that Six Flags's Looping Dragons.
DORNEY NEEDS A NEW COASTER, NOT A USED COASTER, DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND THIS???
