So for those of you that are following my other thread, you'll know that I'm in the process of construction a park, Craig's Ranch Village. Anyone who has done a major project such as a full park or major recreation, you'll know that it can be very time consuming and you may even find yourself losing interest... so its good to have "side" projects to keep your mind going. Over these past couple weeks, I've been thinking about what I'd want to pick up as a side project... And this is what I've came up with!

Introducing my rendition of what Ghost Rider (One of my FAVORITE wooden coasters) would be if were to receive the RMC treatment... Im calling it THE IRON RIDER

***I'd like to turn this into a collab. project with anyone who's got the skill and spare time to handle custom supports... I've tried and tried again but, its looking like thats not going to be forte! LOL***
***This is my SECOND wooden coaster design EVER since I've been using NL/NL2, so if some of the transitions look "iffy" please take that into consideration ;) ***

As usual, comments and feedback are welcomed and greatly appreciated!

RMC rails confuse my head I can't work out which way up half your ride is! (sorta compliment I guess!)

The second half has very lackluster pacing when I take off the brake run transport boost. Especially when I do that and run it in NL1 friction.

@mkingy - Thanks??? lol

@cool5 Is there a way to "fix" this? I design my rides in an "as they are form", meaning once Im satisfied and finalize the design, I rarely, if ever change it... I always just work around any problems adding trims/boosters when and if theyre necessary. The way I see it, when parks test their new coasters and feel like the train comes through the station or over a hill/element too fast, they trim it... if its too slow, theyll adjust the speed to make it a little faster. The booster is only there in case of an ESTOP... I tried it without the booster and the train really creeps through the rest of the ride. I would prefer to NOT change the second half of the ride, unless its ABSOLUTELY necessary.

You should make your last two bunny hills much steeper, taller and more compact. Make them more like B&M hills but much smaller and have wild ejector airtime. Also the first hill after the first drop is much too gentle for a RMC. It should really have massive ejector airtime. It is too shallow and drawn out, which is why it has almost no airtime.

this looks like what Ghostrider would look like if they went rmc on it

@cool5 Okay, I steepened the first drop by about 10 degrees... I didn't do much to the ending bunny hills bc I don't to take too much of the coaster's original layout away AND bc if I make them too much taller, the train will have trouble getting through that final overbanked turn.

Can you raise the lift to you do not have to put in the boost after the mid brake run? That would help with the pacing some. I could not ride your coaster since you forgot to freeze it.

A ride doesn't need to be thrilling after an e-stop it just has to make it back to the station. Boosters are rarely put on real mcbrs, the only ones I can think of are multi launchers. If its good pacing without the E-stop then you're perfectly fine and dont need the boosters

This is very true. It's because, when kicker wheels are present, they do not allow the train to roll through freely. It's ideal to have a declined MCBR without speed control, and you should definitely always make sure it can make it back to the brakes after an E-Stop, though, like CKidd said, it does not have to still be enjoyable. Just make sure the riders make it back to the station.

The first overbank's pacing still seems to be a bit sluggish. I tried to extract the package but it needed a password. I wanted to see how it would look with supports.

I just tried it with a e stop on the brake run and it rolled back on the last overbank. Can you raise the mid course brake run? Or even do without it since the latest rmc's do not have any mid course brake. Like wicked cyclone, iron rattler, Medusa steel coaster and outlaw does not have any mid brake run.

If this is supposed to be "what if RMC refurbished this" I think the MCBR should stay. While RMC do change the layout, they dont do it too drastically that it changes the character of the coaster. you could argue that they're taking out the mcbr on colosus, but when that first opened it didn't have one in the first place
What are these for?

Yea, I don't think I'm going to remove the MCBR as it is indeed a part of the original ride layout... besides, I think removing would affect dispatch times (this theory has not yet been tested). However, I WILL try raising the height of the brake run, thus making the drop out higher and increasing the ability of the train to pick up speed.

***UPDATE***

Okay, so I took @cool5 advice to modify the MCBR by raising higher to get of the use of boosters and it worked wonders, not only for that part but for the entire ride! Theres more speed throughout the second half of the ride along with MORE ejector airtime! Im pretty sure that by looking at the pics everyone should be able to tell the modifications I made to the original Ghost Rider to make it the RMC 'Iron Rider' BUT, for those of you who cant, I will release the stats of the ride, explaining in detail, what was done to make Iron Rider what it is and will become!

At this point, it is safe to say that track work is 100% complete, if not, at least 90-95% ... Next thing is supporting (hopefully @cool5 is still down for the support collab)

Looks good - more ejector airtime is never a bad thing!

The final section does look pretty sweet too!

***UPDATE***

Ive been working on supports and tie (I-Beam) work... it looks "strange" to me, idk if its because the ride itself isnt complete, or if its because Im not use to making woodies... maybe the colors on the I-Beams are too light, or the supports themselves are too dark? Please, please, please let me know what you guys think!

I think it is looking awesome! I am not able to help with making lateral support bracings, but I would be able to test for you if you like. PM me if you want.
