Golden Ticket Award Results 2014

The results are in and..........Gold Striker and Leviathan have cracked the top 10!

Best New Roller Coaster of 2014-
Flying Turns?!?!?!?!?!?? Not Goliath. Not Banshee. Not Helix. Flying Turns.

I'm furious.

^I was astonished as well. IMO it should have been Banshee, then Goliath, then Helix. Im also mad 'Toro isn't number 1. And who didn't see Millennium and Bizarro at number 1? This is why I don't like the Golden Ticket award so much, they are so biased towards those two coasters. Mitch Hawker's is much better. I am glad to see Leviathan get in the top 10 though. Also, IMO Intimidator and Nitro are better than diamondback. I can understand Intimidator ranking lower than diamondback because of it's interaction with the crowd, but Nitro has such a ridiculous feeling of speed that 80 mph feels like 100. And it's PACKED with airtime. Even the first drop has tons of floater. Again, pigs will fly before Millenium Force and Bizarro get dethroned.

I spy with my little eye, Fury 325 cracking that list in 2015. Overall these results I am pleased with. I feel like Banshee should have taken best new ride, but hey, flying turns is truly very unique.

I think Banshee should have won the best new ride of the year. I rode Flying Turns and waited an hour for it, it was not worth it at all. Avalanche at KD is much better.

Have you even ridden Boulder Dash? Not going to say I have a right to decide if Voyage is worse either since I haven't ridden Voyage, but I can say that nothing I have ridden even competes with Boulder Dash and its unworldly amount of airtime, laterals and pacing. I can say that from what I've ridden, Boulder Dash deserves to be up there and that the Golden Ticket awards seem to finally be doing something right. I think it is amazing that it won even with a poll with such a huge bias on how many people have ridden a coaster (which is why MF keeps winning). And it is also amazing that Europa Park beat Cedar Point. Though the awards still suck and crappy B&M hyper coasters keep ranking highly, I think they are taking steps in the right direction.

Hahahaha. I could go all day on how El Toro is sorely overrated.

It takes a lot more than ejector airtime to make a coaster great. Hate to get deep here, but El Toro is soulless in comparison to some other top notch rides. It's a great roller coaster, but not even close to being #1 material.

I'm sorry, but El Toro isn't even in the same league as Boulder Dash.

These rankings never cease to astonish me. Such a joke...
