But one time while it was storming, and The Voyage was closed, all my coworkers were off doing things and taking lunch during the downtime and I was sitting in the train looking out the station watching it severe thunderstorm and It. Was. Awesome.

I'll bet!
I'd love to do that on the TTD train in the station, would be amazing!

You know, When I saw this post I was going to write one of my famously damaging big long rants about all of the things that are wrong with Six Flags. Even go in depth and detail about how they should be fixed, and the business cases for doing so. After some soul searching, I came to realize that Six Flags is the principle cause for the trend in the race to the bottom in the industry. They started the coaster wars back in the 90s-00s that drove them into bankruptcy. Now instead of trying to be the best, they are focusing on how to be the most profitable and how to please the share holders. No publicly traded Theme Park Company has ever had crazy high stock prices or depended upon share holders to keep their business afloat. It's simply the seasonal nature of the business. Your operate for 7 months, have no income and a bunch of expenses, then repeat it all over again next year.

Outside of Labor Costs, Maintenance is the second highest recurring cost center for a park. Tell me, how do you think they are saving money? Post bankruptcy Six Flags has essentially nosed dived into the ground from just about all perspectives. They have failed in all this time to address the things that are principally affecting their businesses, and by the time they do it will be to late. I feel it's beyond saving at this point. Ive sold all of my Six Flags stock this year. If you want to fix Six Flags, then stop supporting them and the way they currently operate. Stop visiting their parks, stop buying season passes, stop buying food and merchandise. That's what everyone else who feels the same way you do is doing.

Once I paid 52 bucks for a family pack that was supposed to be 26. They didn't even give us the drinks.

I have to agree with pretty much everything Mikey said. It seems they cant see what's wrong with their buisness, and that could be their demise. They are the only company that is focusing on profits right now. Cedar Fair is just building giant coasters and hoping people will come, and it certainly works on me!

It's Dominator, someone added some color effects to the photo to try and jazz it up a bit. I recall Ouimet increasing revenue so I wouldn't call it "building rides and hoping people come".

For a company that doesn't like to spend money they sure do go out of their way to slow down lifts.

A man can dream! Lol and yes, the Dominator pic is quite saturated. Which coasters are the culprits with the slow lifts? I've noticed Iron Rattler slows at the apex, but not many others.

Most of the coasters at SFOT slow down at the apex. Ranging from a tiny bit to dramatically like irat

I always wondered if that was actually more expensive or not.

I would think that it would cost more because more energy is being used from the motor, therefore, more money is being spent to keep up with it.

Pretty sure Nitro slows down a teeny bit at the top, but that's the only Great Adventure coaster I can think of that slows down at the top on purpose. El Toro has to slow down at the top because the cable lift system was getting destroyed for some reason when it was fast, so that doesn't count. Otherwise that's it for Great Adventure.

Didn't notice this til now, I agree with pretty much everything you said. But I will keep supporting them. I don't want to lose some of their amazing coasters, it is not worth the loss of coasters for a better run company. And I don't support them much, a $61 season pass that works for the rest of this year and next year with free parking does not help pay the bills very much if at all, so I don't personally think I am contributing to them too much.
