I'm just wondering if anyone has read anything anywhere regarding when the first "big" update for NL2 will be released. By that I mean, an update potentially containing new track styles etc. I realize this update is coming from the same team who told us "it's finished when it's finished" about a four hundred times-- which is obviously their prerogative-- so I'm really just asking in general as I've heard zippo about anything.

I'm mostly asking because sometimes news pops up in unexpected places besides the official site. I remember that one site had exclusive screenshots of the B&M staggered train before the initial release and those were never even posted on the NL site. I'm also not sure if the NL news section is really being updated now that the game has been released; none of the other updates so far were announced but of course they were all minor.

So... yeah, anyone heard anything?

I have yet to hear one way or another regarding a possible Mac version. I don't know if we would be likely to see it before the first big update, after the next big update, or if it's basically a 50/50 shot. This is of course assuming there will be a Mac version, which there may not be.

All I remember is they said they wanted to have the next big update out by the end of the year. I'm also pretty sure they had projects come in which stalled working on the update.

The next major update I heard was rather soon and it was with WingRider trains and some other smaller new features.

I heard somewhere their personal goal is October but don't hold your breath. It'll be done when it's done haha, there's so much work that goes into these things for such a small team

I would advise against rushing people creating an update for a product they really don't have to lol.

I still believe those kinds of updates will be like the updates for NL1, around Christmas, the only thing I really want added, a way to group a selection of nodes like you can in Autocad, will probably never be done so I'm perfectly fine with the great product we already have
What are these for?

I always find myself wishing I had more unsolicited advice

Turbo, do you remember where you heard that? As I said, I simply haven't seen jack squat and often I'm able to find rumors floating around somewhere. I mean, believe me I'm not holding my breath... I remember at one point someone from the team said they were aiming for NL2 to be out by end of 2011

I'm at work so can't really go digging but i'm 99% sure a dev said on facebook and/or twitter that a Mac version was in the works - I imagine they'll aim to release the Mac version with the update to get everybody on the same page.

It'll be out when they need the hype and money lol. Nothing they did with NL2 should have taken as long as it did. By march there was more custom content then they had in both programs so why after a decade everyone is applauding what we got with all the bugs, lack of new content and features, and only four new coaster styles is beyond me >_>

If Cedar Point had a decade wait for a coaster and got a traveling Pinfari would everyone be excited? No! They'd be outraged that after such a long wait it's all we get lol. Although the brightside outlook applies to a lot, itt doesn't apply to spending so much cash for not much new

^ most of NL1s updates were free except for 1.6, I think. NL2 will probably be the same so money isn't a motivator for an update for them....But we already had this argument when it was released so I'll leave it at that

There was a maintenance and bug fix update today. My version is now 2.0.6.0.

Odd comparison. If you think about developers No Limits are far far away from being a big developer in the way that Cedar Point is far away from being a small park... NL2 is a huge improvement in many ways over NL1.x and without going the kickstarter route too. You're expecting a lot from a small team that built NL2 from the ground up (that have other sources of income to tend to at the same time)!

Yea, they released an update with some new feature with Left Click that can activate a script or Left Click can be used to move around again like NL1 Yay!
Check the Update log thread for all the updates in a bit, am updating it right now as we read.
