On TTD what are the max negative G's and max positive G's?

i dunno, i haven't ridden it but i think 4g and maybe a floater air on the top so: -0g
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)
- Wood: 142
- Steel: 1268

The image is from cedarpoint.com, and is not complete (notice how the mid carriage wheels have not been rendered) I dont think there is an offical g count for TTD, but i would have said it would be around 3.5-4.5

It's 4.5 g's (acorging to pop sci magazine), and probably -3g 's or so. Not sure because launch speeds can vary.

-3g's? Get real, its nowhere near that. Dirk said 0g is floater air (???? Floater air is over -1g) To take a guess i'd say its something like -1.2 over the top hat, but it does depend on the launch speed. At a 120 launch, between -1 and -1.5.

hey, isn't brtnboarder495's sig a little too big, I got told to make mine smaller and mine wasn's even as big as his [lol].

As for the g's on TTD, why don't you make an exactly perfect representation of it on NL and find out [:D] haha, nah. I think you'll find depending on the launch speed, it will be about +3.7g to +4.2g and -0.7 to -1.2g

if you get -1g then you get an ejector air[;)], I don't think you get shot'n out your seat on the top. So i should say: 0g / -0.7g
I know one person who rides ttd allmost everyday. so he can tell the g-'s on ever feet. (sc morf 'lear'si rebmem taht[[;)]read backweard[;)]])

Hmm, cause I made a launch speed of 120 mph and a 420 foot top hat, but with the incline of the track to the top hat, the G's reach up to 5+ and at the top the Gs reach up to -2. I think that this error is due to to NL calculations or that the wieght of the hyper coaster cars in real life are different that those in real life like on TTD.

you could have also got your radius's wrong on the inclines and the top hat

Floater air is where you float. -1g is A LOT of force, thats ejector air.

Thats because after TTD launches it slows down a lot...on CS, theres a perfect recreation of TTD made by Real, and it has LIMs after the launch to slow it down after hitting 120 mph so the gs on the tophat would be more realistic.

I don't know, ok? Sheesh.

Anyway, I can't DL any coastersims tracks unless I hack in there because they won't let you DL w/o joining. You can't join if you're under 13. Problem Big problem. (I even heard that most of CS's tracks are rally good.)

I assume like with most Intamin coasters, Stengel did the structural calculations. Stengel has been quoted as saying that G's should stay between +5 G and -1G. So I assume TTD does not go below -1G at the top

ya but that top hat must be constructed near perfectly to achieve perfect wieghtlessness. But intamins are near perfect so I woundnt be supriseD

Um, no, I'll be caught for low maturity and I'll be banned. Short enough, eh?

I must've meant -.3g's. Sorry, I must've been on crack. [redsmoke]

after riding TTD, I would say that there are about 4.5g's going up. (I could barely keep my hands up), and -.5 to -.7 g's just before the crest of the tophat. A noteworthy piece of information is that there are no -g's all the way over the top... right before the crest, you get some -g's, but all the way over the top, there are no -g's at all. then, just before the spiral, you get some more -g's, but not as much as on the way up.

cjd, when you talk about the total airtime, thats dependant on 2 things.

1. Speed
2. Position in train

I will say, my favourite seat is the front seat, just because the feeling of 120+mph ripping at your face is awesome, but you do only get airtime in the front as you crest.

From the back seat, I notice that you have a much better chance of airtime throughout, depending on your speed. There are some days, and times during days where I know for a fact its pulling between -0.5 and -1. And its those times, when its overshooting alot that the back does get constant air. What makes it great too from the back is when you start to crest, if you get that faster ride, youll get some floater, but once you reach the crest, its all ejector.

Also in the back, since you are at a 90 degree angle, you dont go back to +1 G's till the pull out. All the way down the spiral, at least in the back you are pulling like probably 0.0. when I ride there I get the massive ejector over the top, then it feels you are getting ripped out of your seat through the spiral, but I would bet that its not as intense as it feels.

But who cares what it pulls as long as it feels intense no?

you're right, (as always) Real. I forgot that I always rode in the front two seats. I guess it would be the exact opposite in the back. My bad. [:)]
