This is my first coaster to build in NL2. It is a simple twisted out and back coaster.

Hey Everyone, it's been awhile since I've built a coaster. I downloaded NL2 a few days ago and have been working on this one. It's a simple twisted out and back. I'm doing a lot of stuff to it that might not be normal, but it's a good experience for me just to learn how the program works. Right now I have the track work finished and I am a little over half way done with supporting. I've dug into the terrain editor once because one trough was underground by about a foot. I'll post pictures soon.

That one support on the lift is way to far out. Other than that it looks good. Do you have more pictures of the shaping of your hills?

It's kind of hard to see from the angle shown, but it looks kind of like a Morgan inspired hyper and it seems. The shaping looks fine, but I can't tell until I see it from the side view. It also looks a good bit over supported.

-shape of the hills seem to be off from the pics, maybe another angle?
-as mentioned above, the supports need fixing.
-last bunny hill seems ok, but the main hills need help.

Thank you guys for the feedback. Here are some more pictures of things you requested. I know it is a bit over supported but it's good practice with the support tools. The idea for the lift hill is for it to be supported by a tripod, so that's why it looks silly. The first flat turn is inspired by Mamba at Worlds of Fun. I also watched the Mamba pov today and have plans to redo the supports around that turn.

Try to get the hills in a more parabola shape.
The would be my main issue.

Those high supports look pretty thin - either beef them up or put in some lateral bracing part way down!

I agree that the hills should look a bit more parabolic. Also, it's a bit oversupported, but that's pretty much it.

I will definitely use a more parabolic shape for future coasters. But for this one I feel like it's to late in the game to redo track work without going through support re-positioning hell. I also kinda like the organic shape of the hills. I have them pretty smooth and since train doesn't really fly over the top of them and more or less rolls over them, all the G's check out.

Supports doesn't look realistic at least I never saw a real coaster supported like that. The trackwork looks fast with high forces!

Not such a big deal and completely up to you, but I feel as though you're using the wrong track style, if a mamba-like ride is what you set out to accomplish. I would have gone with the corkscrew track style as that is the closest we have available to us
What are these for?

I really wanted a sit down twisted like B&M's Goliath and Titan. But I couldn't find it in the options when I started this track. So I've just gone with this style ever since.

Pretty sure Goliath and Titan were both Giovanola rides, B&M had nothing to do with them. That track type is hardly ever seen which is why it's not really a priority in NL2.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Finally just finished with supporting. Redesigned the flat turn supports with the Mamba look. Passed the tunnel test and e stop test. Added a second train. Next plans are to come up with paint scheme and add water beside all alongside it, hence 'Coast Runner.' Future plans also include adding flat rides, trees, sidewalks, lights, etc.

Not bad, especially since you are still new at it. My biggest thing is what Helo9797 said, make the hills more like parabolas. Otherwise, not bad!

Made progress on some of the first layers of terrain sculpting and painting.

Still trying to come up with a paint scheme for everything. All I know so far is that orange has to be one of the colors.

Finally got some colors chosen for Coast Runner. I wanted an orange/gold theme since I wanted the coaster to have a sunset on the beach type of feel.

I also added in some more flat rides I found on the internet and added in some forestation.

What I would like next is to figure out how to get my terrain paint looking not so un-pixelated and actually having a paint that looks like concrete for pathways. Then I will start working on fences. I will most likely do this the old fashioned way of just using supports.

Your flat rides looks very spread out - might it be better to cluster them a bit more so people don't have to walk for ages to get between ever ride?

You need to find yourself a concrete texture to get concrete flooring - just google free concrete seamless texture and import that as a brush or whatever its called in NL - to stop them being pixilated you need to ensure that they have the correct number of repeats when you set up the texture, have a play with the setting to see how it affects it!

Added in some pathways and queue for the coaster. I know real coasters would never put so much queue next to so many supports and under the lift, but I'm just gonna use this as a learning curve experience so I can plan better for future rides. Also, thank you mkingy for the tip on how to get concrete into my park. It looks much better now. As for the rides being spread out, I like that it gives it a park in a forest type feel. My next goal will be to add fences around the flat rides. Maybe also learn how to share the file for testers as a possible future goal.

Looking good! I agree that the paths look much better now.

EDIT: If you need any help with environments (you said you were going for a sunset on the beach feel) , I'd be glad to lend a hand :)

^ Surprisingly, I think some places do have a lot of queues under lifts and supports, just kinda the way it sometimes has to be depending on the landscape.
