Credit to Universal for the Concept Art!

It's been a long 13 years of negotiating, but Universal has finally announced that the plans are final, and a new Universal Studios will be opening in Beijing in 2019! It will cost an estimated 3.3 billion dollars to build and it will include a 300 acre theme park with similar rides from all the other current Universal parks. In addition, unique rides will be created just for the Beijing location, and a Universal CityWalk will be built as well. To top it all off, a first of its kind Universal themed hotel will be built as well!

Specific rides have not yet been released but looks as if Transformers, Despicible Me, Harry Potter, and the Hulk will be included! Based on the concept art above, it looks as if The Incredible Hulk coaster in Florida will be getting a clone of itself in China. As said before, there are no guarentees, but this is what it looks like based on the concept art above.

We will keep this topic updated with more info as we get it!

I'm pretty sure anything would be better than the Battlestar Gallactica fiasco

It's a long shot but, what about the POSSIBILITY of them purchasing the Led Zepplin Coaster from Hard Rock?

That ride has already been sold!
A real long shot is a relocation of the hulk ride

I'm honestly curious as to weather B&M would even do a Hulk Clone, and if they did if it would use tires or LSMs. I can't actually imagine LSMs being able to pull a train of that weight up at that angle at such a slow pace (before the launch). Those would have to be some serious magnets.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Or it could just gradually launch up. It doesn't need to have the slow portion beforehand.

To Who?

Anyone else realize that this is being built to rival Shanghai Disney?

I think they would do a clone, but with LSM's.
I think they could totally do the slow portion and then the LSM's take over for the launch.

LSM's have developed quite a bit and I think they could handle it.

I know B&M spent a great amount of money, just to invent "tire drive system" on IOA's Hulk.

Maybe they will just relocate Florida one so that they can add something better here

They have replaced the entire zero G roll once already because the track was overly fatigued. Keep in mind Hulk runs pretty much constantly and has been open for 15 years without a lengthy offseason. Also some of the older B&Ms need to have the crosstie welds reinforced occasionally. Raptor was closed for a day once this year to reweld part of the cobra roll, and I know Mantis in addition to Raptor has little silver patches from rewelds all over it. It happens over time.

Ask Mikey, that ride is the most run B&M ever, and correct me if I am wrong, some parts of the actual track are starting to wear out now.

thinking about it now, yeah... I would imagine the coasters in Florida have some of the most runs.

I'm pretty sure B&M wanted nothing to do with the launch and it was actually Universal and MT that designed and created the Tire drive system.
