For most of us, unless you live in Florida or California, the offseason is coming soon. I was just wondering how the rest of you deal with it. For me, I switch my main area of nerdery over to weather since I'm a weather junkie, and winter is when the most interesting weather of the year happens here. Football season starts to get interesting in November too. I'm also a movie fan, so I'll take plenty of trips to the movie theater to keep me busy. As for coasters, I still visit coaster/theme park websites routinely, play RCT3 and NoLimits, watch POVs, and keep up with industry happenings, but not as much as I do during the regular season (I try keeping it to a minimum to avoid severe coaster withdrawal). Here in Minnesota, the offseason is very long, but at least I have Opening Day at Valleyfair next year to look forward to.

What's this off season you speak of?

Don't worry, we pay for it by having to deal high temperatures well into october! And with no rain :(
I miss the rain!
This summer heat is killing me!
but I guess ill take it for the unlimited coaster season.

Movies would really help! Love movies! Anybody else got their IMAX Interstellar ticket yet? I have :)

During the offseason I usually get really into supercars. I have a lot of sims on my PS3 and I have a Logitech racing wheel too, so it helps me get by. Also, The weather in NJ has been really bland; the same exact thing everyday. Temperature in the 40's to 60's, and partly cloudy. Lately I've been really exited for rain too as it's finally not partly cloudy :D
It's been a long time

Normally I spend much more time in NL2 during the off season. During the season I'm usually more interested in real rides then the sim.

Ah, a fellow weather junkie! Knew I wasn't alone :D! Off-season here in Pittsburgh is relatively long, but definitely not as bad as Minnesota I presume. Winters aren't too bad, just mostly clouds with a few bad snowstorms here and there. To pass the time I usually spend my free time from theater work (November-March) on designing rides and making videos for YouTube. Currently working on a video series from a recent bike trip from Pittsburgh to DC, as well as one from my trip to Kennywood a few hours ago :).

I go on a Cali trip in the middle of November, and then in the main winter I ski and go to this little amusement place that is indoors that has some small rides, but is enough to entertain me till March when Great Adventure opens again!

^ Don't be a floridian, 50 degrees is NOT COLD.
Up here in the north, we are dancing like it is spring when it is 50.

Now when you are talking CP when it is 28 degrees and windy at the end of October, then it is cold.

We'll talk when Florida gets to 10 below without factoring in wind chill

I wish I lived in Florida, last year we had a wind chill of -40. We got off school for two days at least!
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Stop... just stop... really. (really slightly irked a little :p)

Do not use the word freezing, the Fahrenheit temperature for freezing is 32 degrees. That is the temperature that water has to reach for it to turn from a liquid to a solid to become ice or snow. It has to at least be another 20 degrees colder before you can ever use that term. and it will snow here in ohio tonight. You sound like a Kardashian everytime you say that lol

That's just for snow to happen. Last year it was another 43 degrees colder than that. Think about that. No, don't just do the math, think about it. For days it was 63 degrees colder than you are currently whining about outside. And we didn't even get the worst of it. The windchill was -40. Standing outside your skin will freeze on your body in under ten minutes People go outside and die here. Trees crumble and fall through peoples homes. Last winter when the power went out people got trapped in their cars and homes and froze to death. And it is predicted to be much, much worse this year. And I have an outside job.

I'm not trying to be overly serious but please be thankful for where you live and please have more respect for what we go through up North.

Here is a newsclip filmed before the North got hit with the worst of the storm. Many more people lost their Lives across this part of the country in the following days after this was filmed
