Back in the late 80's before Vortex at KI, Shockwave at SFGAm, GASM at SFGAdv and Viper at SFMM, there were plans for a looping coaster unlike any other, not only would it be taller, and faster, but it would feature a revolutionary new inversion, the sidewinder inversion. Shortly after Six Flags contacted Arrow Dynamics, the plans were put aside because plans for Vortex at KI had just been leaked to the media, and Six Flags realized that their original concept was not epic enough to battle the media frenzy of the tallest coaster to feature multiple inversions, so the plans were archived, never to be seen again, until now. There was talk of Six Flags bringing the plans back to life in the late 90's early 2000's and building the ride in one of their smaller recently accquired parks, but that again never came to fruition, mostly due to the huge fiasco that became X and later X2. Here it is, fresh from the archives: Colossus, the king of steel coasters.
trackwork is nearly complete, and support work to begin soon.
