you do understand the idea of being first in the group is that you dont have to have back ups, and that you could've taken any one of the 7 coasters the other 2 in your group picked away from them?

I'm getting super confused on this game the more I read the rules and old ones I get more confused

^ Deere, if you are the first in line in your group, you get first choice, so whatever coaster you put down, is yours, assuming it hasn't been picked by someone else already.
2nd person in line, has their first choice, but needs a backup in case their first pick is taken by the 1st person in the group, because the first person has priority over all in the group.

3rd person, top choice, and 2 backups, for same reason as 2nd person

and 4th person, top choice, and 3 backups, for same reason as 3rd person.
