From the pictures Drachen Fire looks almost spot on, although, without riding it, there's no way to tell if you got the arrow transitions right.

He showed some G-Force comb pics earlier in the thread. They looked pretty arrow-y and hurt-y to me.

Drachen Fire looks about as good as you can get it with the limitations of the game's banking factored in. Good job on the supports also BTW, they're pretty non-standard for Arrow.

Thanks guys! I actually have gotten pretty good at "Arrow Shaping" in NL2, and am pretty sure literally anything is possible in this program if you're creative enough.

Drachen Fire was a rare coaster for sure though, and the shaping is no different. It didn't have the "traditional" Arrow shaping, but it also didn't have elegant heart lining either. It was sort of a hybrid that go lost in the process of transition between the paper and computer age. Honestly, I still maintain the ride could have had a train-based conversion the same way FOF or Phantom's Revenge did, and am still a bit bitter at the park for just up and tearing it down.

I think timing played a huge role in them canceling the re-design plans for DF. I mean, when that kid got hurt, they were already breaking ground for Apollo, so I can see how a historically low-ridership ride wasn't getting lots of push for a redesign, and even less financial backing. I know they toyed with various new train styles and decided the track was the issue, but I still think SOMETHING could have been done. I mean, the difference between FoF with the OTS restraints and the lap restraints is night and day.

Also, like most Arrow coasters, the guide/upstop wheels did not contact the track unless g-forces pushed them that way, so you got an extra "slam" effect on DF just like any other Arrow. Surely that could have been re-designed in a similar fashion to how they did Phantom's Revenge. I think with lap restraints and a better wheel carriage, DF wouldn't have been anywhere close to as rough as it was. Hell, it's still not the roughest coaster I've been on (I'm looking at you, Shockwave and Mean Streak).

But oh well, it's long gone now, living only in NL2 recreations :/

So after some traveling and work related things, I'm back to work on BGW! Since it's been so long since my last update, I thought I'd show you some of the details I'm working on.

When I say I want this as accurate as possible, I'm trying to leave no stone unturned!

Well I'll say it's fairly obvious that you're far more patient than I am! Looks practically photorealistic so far.

How did you get that little square platform with rails? Supports or using separate tracks?

The catwalks are a hodgepodge combo of track railings on invisible segments, supports, and 3ds.

No it simply destroyed what little patience I had.

As far as the latest set of screenies go, the stairs and stuff are looking really good. Maybe I'll take another stab at making stairs in the future but I doubt it. Lots of nodes going on in that picture lol. It took me a bit to figure out 3D trees and the coveted beam node existed. God I love the beam node.

Trust me when I say Drachen Fire has not been the winner in that front so far :P

All I can say is you're awesome at shaping tracks, plus at using complicated functions in the editor! I can't get anywhere if I get 10 or more nodes for one element! ;)
