Jim Atchison CEO of SeaWorld, announced yesterday afternoon that he is stepping down as ceo in order to save the company 50 million dollars. With that there will be job looses (hopefully my family isn't apart of that job loss) but we seen this coming since Bands Brew and BBQ.

Due to sharp drops in visitor attendance and stock prices, SeaWorld has made it public that their CEO, Jim Atchison, will step aside from his position.

It has also been reported by other sources that SeaWorld will also be cutting other personnel with an unspecified number of job cuts.

Current chairman David F. D'Alessandro will step in as CEO while a replacement is found.

Very sorry to hear that. Question though, how will him stepping down save $50 million? Surely that isn't his salary, and if it is, won't a new CEO ask for similar compensation?

This may or may not be related, but PETA is literally one of the worst diseases on the planet.

I always thought PETA stood for
People
Eating
Tasty
Animals

Honestly, people need to realize that Sea World is not torturing the whales, and ANIMALS IN CAPTIVITY HAVE IT BETTER THAN ANIMALS IN THE WILD!
The more and more I hear about this, the more I realize how bad society really is and every day people become even more stupid.

hmmm I wonder if them going forth with the Orca project, the one that gives them bigger, prettier tanks, had anything to do with his demise? As for cuts, they should gut their marketing departing as it sucks balls. They know the demographic but targeting it wrong.

Well. Happy that it is not you guys that cut. My dad had to go through that whole process, not with Seaworld obviously, but it is a very stressful time for the entire family.
