Similar to the "What park deserves a new coaster" thread, there are some cities and parts of the country that don't have a theme park (or at least a decent one) that should probably have one. What do you think some of those cities/area are? I'll name a few to start.

-Phoenix: Even though they have Castles n' Coasters, that park is more like an FEC and doesn't cut it for a metro population of 4.4 million.
-Hawaii: Considering all of the tourism this state gets, you'd think there would at least be a small park somewhere. I know the main reason people go to Hawaii is relax, but still...
-New Orleans: If someone were to buy the park from the City of New Orleans, that could be decent way of bring an amusement park back to this city. However, they would have a lot to clean up and I don't know who would purchase the park (probably not Six Flags or Cedar Fair).
-Alaska: While Alaska's climate would not support an outdoor amusement park, they could probably build a small indoor amusement park like Nickelodeon Universe or the Adventuredome in Anchorage or somewhere nearby.
-Memphis: Even though there are a few parks within a few hours' drive, I still think Memphis is large enough that it should have it's own park. If only Libertyland hadn't closed.

I would have said Houston, but Grand Texas Theme Park is in development right now.

Mallorca, and I'm not just saying that because I live here. Especially considering we essentially have Magaluf a place so rammed full of people during the summer they have to shut off an entire section of the town from cars at night because there are too many people. We have waterparks up the wazoo, but not actual theme parks.

I was actually considering putting Miami/South Florida on my list above, but I feel that even if they built a park down there, more people would still continue to make the trek up to the Orlando parks since those are the parks that everyone knows and is familiar with. Not saying a Miami theme park is impossible, I just don't think it would be successful.

I heard that fox I believe is building a park down there they are just getting permission to build on the land but the neighboring community are doing a protest because they want a shopping mall instead

I'm currently in Vancouver, and it could most definitely use a park nearby. The PNE just isn't all that interesting.

Something between Seattle and Vancouver BC would be great. Wild Waves and the PNE don't really make the "great park" cut.

There are already enough theme parks in the Orlando area. If you want a good cash cow in FL, head to Jacksonville. It's the largest city in the US (for land mass), and it's a reasonable drive for anyone living in southern Georgia so that they don't have to hike five hours north to Atlanta. Jacksonville already has an active night life, and it has two naval bases, so there are a ton of military families looking for outings. I bet the USO could strike a deal with the theme park to get discounted tickets for active duty personnel and their dependents.

The reason I said florida is because think we may have some coasters but not the high thrill coasters like bgt has it needs more adult based parks/coasters a cedar fair, six flags or even a hershend entertainment park would do well in Orlando as long as they make the coasters like b&m intianims gravity group or rmc they would be a even more success because people are moving down here and visit here we just went over new York numbers as for living here

Is there proof of this? From my experience in both cities, NYC has a bigger landmass and much taller buildings, and when I did a research project 3 years ago the The 5 biggest cities population wise we 1.NYC 2. L.A. 3. Chigago 4. Houston and 5. Philadelphia. not including metro areas(the rankings remained the same) NYC had more than 7 times as many residents as Philly. Since Orlando was smaller than Philly we'd have to assume Orlando would have to grow 7 times its size just to compete in 3 short years...

Ah see, the difference is since you want the park built in Orlando, I assumed you were talking Orlando vs. NYC which there is and never will be any comparison size wise. But state wise a different story. Florida could do well with a park focused more on amusement than theme, but not in Orlando, as there is plenty of supply in that area to meet the demand. I also wouldn't say that anywhere in Pa needs a new park because theres quite a few scattered about the state.

I see your wrong there Orlando would do great with a amusement park and needs one baddly think you got family parks but nothing for teens/adults expect for stuff like the polar coaster witch opens in 2017 it needs a cedar fair park or six flags they would be a success

I also think that Seattle and Portland, Oregon would also be cities that deserve a theme park because pretty much the Northwest U.S. in general is very coaster deprived. Silverwood and Wild Waves are the largest parks in the region, but those are still quite small.

Berlin. I need an excuse to visit that city!

There is the closed spreepark which you can visit with a tour. And for ride-able coasters there are 2 tiny parks in the area. :)

They just need to invest more into the parks they already have.

Seriously? You have the Disney World parks, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Fun Spot America, and a lot of waterparks too. What more can you ask for?
