I would love to come but at the moment it's hard for me to set a date... I'm thinking about it tho
I haven't been to Thorpe park and last year at AT i remember how uneasy was to move without a car

Well assuming Gouldy comes (fair chance) - I can drive so can pack 3 into my Yaris as long as you can get to a train station nearish to Birmingham - or anywhere down the M1 / M40 if we do Thorpe Park!

So is that a maybe from you Jammy? :p

Shouldn't be a problem in me coming, whatever is decided.

Obviously midweek would be preferred in terms of queues at the park, but weekend much much easier for everyone in terms of work/school etc. Can usually do either, the only exceptions being Wolves games at the weekend and site days at work. But as long as we know the date in advance, I can book/make arrangements etc.

So count me in for it. And if it's the weekend, count the wife in as well.

Yeah, I'm a maybe, this'd be my first meet as well. :D If I can do it, it would have to be a weekend due to uni for me, or Easter, and I'm near Birmingham anyway :-) As for theme park preference, none in particular.

Maybe if I get some funding I'd even might be able to show up. The question remains what date tho, since I've got my yearly plan on visiting my local parks on opening day as well. :)

Some parks haven't released opening day yet - but I'll compile a list tonight on when they are / when they did last year!

The wife did indeed say yes, so definitely count us in. We'll just have to see if we can miss whatever the dates collide with etc.

Cool, would love to show up sometime and meet some more of the crazy English lads here. Although I doubt anyone can top Gouldy:

Haha, I remember seeing that video years ago and laughing so much. I always knew that support never passed clearance tests. Had no idea it was from here :P

List of opening weekends (I gather that's when we can get the largest amount of people... ie not just me and Gouldy!)

Alton Towers - 21st March 2015
Thorpe Park - Not announced yet - last year was 20th March which would mean possibly 21st March 2015 is the first Saturday it is open.

I've checked Gouldy and you're due to lose against Derby @ Molineux on Friday 20th March - so if you're planning on drowning your sorrows obviously Sunday may be preferential?

Hmmm.. A week before most of the parks open here. I'll put myself on maybe for both parks. If I can get the finances together it's a go. :)

I think this year I want to do an international trip.. but its got to be cost effective. Last I checked airfare to places with decent parks was well over $2,500. If I can get it less then $1200 round trip I would be game.

If you'd wanna do an actual international trip I'd say wait a little longer and go somewhere around end of April/Start of May. At that point all the parks should be open again instead of just 1 or 2. It would be a shame to blast 1500 bucks on an international flight for only 1 or 2 open themeparks. :)

I'll be happy to participate but all depends if my job place will keep me or not... I can't tell until the end of Feb.

Ahh, don't be so sure, Derby have dropped off the pace a little, and we're undefeated now for 7 games, having won 5 of them. Having said all that though, the match in question is on Sky, and we're always DREADFUL when we're on Sky.

Either way, win, lose, or draw, Saturday 21st will be fine for us. Works really well that that match is on the Friday because of Sky. Put us down for either the Saturday, or the Sunday, as we're flexible at the weekend!
