It is a ride not a coaster IMO as it is just a stationary train on a conveyor belt.

I've never really been a fan of the way SF does things. Disney, Holiday World, and Cedar Fair, rarely if ever piss me off, but it seems like all Six Flags does is just piss me off. Whether it be preventable accidents, pointless rides (Ring of fires crap marketed as coaster.), their advertising, the staff, or their past. Six Flags almost always fails to impress me. Zumanjaro? More like, "Wilitbeopentomorrow?" Batman 4D coaster? Wow, you mean a zacspin?

^Semi-Agreed. For example, Six Flags spends a lot of extra money on upgrades for capacity, like Kingda Ka's double loading station, and Tatsu's double station, but never use them. With Zumanjaro eating up Kingda Ka's time, im sure if they used all of the station, the lines would be much shorter. The other amusement park companies just seem to run things smoother.

Is Kingda Ka run really that bad? Dragster sometimes takes a while because you aren't allowed to clear the train you're checking until the second train launches. Working that ride requires like no rushing at all with how long its interval is.

With its reliance on the loading and ride sequence of Zum, yes. Someone who frequents the park more than myself can probably attest better than me.

I believe it goes a little like this: They send one train to the catch car, and one to the transfer track while one loads. Kingda Ka launches those 2 trains then Zumanjaro runs one time. The whole cycle repeats again- or at least that's what they did last time I went

Bit late to petition something that's probably already been funded and paid for - this petition would be better off concentrating on park improvements for the coming year - highlighting the need for renovation in certain areas!

It doesn't matter if they still put the ride there or not. They will see that people want a cleaner park, and Holiday In The Park. So they might do both of those. It doesn't hurt to sign/share :)
And I did concentrate on them making park improvements. I said the money would be better used to fix up the park. And I provided links to some bad areas in the park.

It's been worse lately, Zu, has been loading so fast that sometimes Kingda Ka only launches 1 train, so 2 trains will be sitting in the launch area, and the train in the station will be done loading and just sitting there idle for 2 minutes, it's a real capacity killer.

I do like this theme a TON better, but I still do not approve of the ride, and will not be riding it :/ Dope logo and name though.

With no money for a real coaster they are trying to call other rides are coasters. I can't wait until they are re-theming their frog hopper to a coaster.

Granted I myself don't consider these coasters.

But I will go on a limb and say that as a far stretch they do "like 1st gen Intamin freefalls" share criteria of rides that the fandom does consider coasters...

Considering that these were accepted as coasters this would also open up it's own can of SF sewage. THIS is what SF has come to for roller coasters now? If they feel that Great Adventure was in this much need of a roller coaster, and this is what they bring to the table to fulfill that need at one of their flagship parks, what does the future look like? Think about how much teasers and hints went into this. More viral marketing than Kingda Ka and El Toro had combined... Not looking good guys.

Another thing that worries me is the fact that so late in the game after much marketing expenditures they trash it all and completely retheme it before it even opens. They can't even decide how to market it this late in the game? From working in the amusement industry (casino side) initial image can make or break attractions no matter what you do or tack on after that image is out there. That's preschool marketing knowledge... And if you are tight for money, unnecessary rebrandings and such is literally just tossing money away.

This does nothing but hurt the park, for smaller parks it isn't such a big deal but for a flagship park to have these grave errors is a good indication of upper management turmoil and lack of vision. I honestly think they waited so long to get their ducks in order there was nothing else they could get in place in time =\. If they don't do well by summer 2016 we may be looking at more parks getting sold off

While I still don't necessarily approve of the ride, I do think that the name is much, much better and now it goes well to El Toro's theme since it is near by.

If they took this ride out in a couple years, people would be complaining that the park is losing flats. If they didn't put this ride in, people would be complaining that the park needs flats. They are putting it in, and people are complaining that the ride is called a coaster among various other comments. Nobody will care about how it was marketed in a year. Marketing of special attractions is very often a bit wacky. It helps fill a void that a lot of people complained incessantly about, so I don't see why so many can't see past the silly marketing and just enjoy it for what it is. It's another flat you can ride when you want, but you don't have to...and if you choose not to, you have tons of coasters and several other fun/thrilling flat rides to enjoy.

Anyways the moral is there's too much complaining going on lol. I'm all for seeing two sides of an argument - it's silly when people think you're wrong if you don't like something - but at the same time when people drone on about the exact same, fairly insignificant things year after year it gets a bit old in my opinion.

FYI, the company that makes the super loop (Larson), also markets this ride as a compact "Coaster". Yet no one is giving them a hard time.

http://www.larsonintl.com/pages/giant-l ... -loop.html

I for one get a good laugh every time this kind of debate comes up, whether it's an RMC "is it wood or steel"? Or something like this. I love watching enthusiasts collective heads explode whenever a park decides not to go along with traditional definitions. Because to me it's silly for a company to pull this, and just as silly how people freak out like a law was broken.

At the end of the day, people can called it a flat ride, the parks and manufacturer can call it a free standing roller coaster, and nothing's going to explode because of it. Personally, I don't care for these rides (or many flat rides for that matter). But once I'm that close to El Toro, I don't care.

News Release:
Six Flags Great Adventure, the world??????s largest theme park, plans for more roller coaster thrills and Halloween scares in 2015. The 510-acre theme park, which was recently voted America??????s second best theme park by USA TODAY readers, debuts the park??????s thirteenth roller coaster ?????? El Diablo, and expands its notoriously scary Fright Fest Halloween festival.

El Diablo Roars into Six Flags
In 2015, Six Flags Great Adventure introduces its thirteenth roller coaster, El Diablo. Twenty riders sitting in ??????face-off?????? seats rocket forward and backward pendulum style until the train gains enough momentum to complete a full revolution seven stories in the air. The coaster then kicks into high gear, completing full revolutions until it stops momentarily with riders suspended upside down, and then reverses direction for even more thrills.

El Diablo joins the park??????s Plaza del Carnaval section, which is home to the world??????s top-rated wooden coaster, El Toro.

"El Diablo is a great addition to our diverse roller coaster collection because it delivers speed and thrills that appeal to both our younger and more experienced thrill-seekers alike,?????? said Park President John Fitzgerald. The park??????s roller coaster collection includes three of the world??????s top roller coasters ?????? Kingda Ka, El Toro and Nitro ?????? plus unique coaster experiences that allow Guests to fly head first, stand and ride floorless. El Diablo will have a 48-inch height requirement. The ride is expected to debut in the late spring of 2015.

Overview:
Coming in Spring 2015! El Diablo is an utterly unique seven story tall looping steel coaster which towers over the Plaza del Carnaval section of the park.

You??????ll face off against other riders in specially designed seats which bolt up and back the looped track like a pendulum, higher and higher until you??????re suspended completely upside down in mid-air!

Then El Diablo gains enough momentum to soar through a full 360 degree loop, again and again and again! The steel beast can even change directions, halfway through the loop!

This super-swift super-coaster stands tall next to Six Flags Great Adventure behemoths like El Toro. But it will take super-sized courage to ride this Devil!

Image

Facts:
El Diablo is a one-of-a-kind steel looping coaster experience unlike anything else at Six Flags Great Adventure. Riders board unique forward and backward cars which face one another, then they rocket up one side of a massive, seven story tall 360 degree loop, only to swing back down again like a pendulum.

Soon, the Devil builds enough momentum to reach the very top of the loop, leaving riders suspended in a complete upside-down inversion high over the Plaza del Carnaval section of the park.

Then, El Diablo lives up to its name with a mind-bending series of 360 degree loops, even reversing direction halfway through the loop for more high-adrenaline disorientation!

Riders must be at least 48?????? to board this scaly-skinned powerhouse, the 13th coaster to join the park??????s collection of world class thrill rides.
