Perhaps you would make a wooden ride like White Canyon.

A great moment for me to read this contest. Hmmm... I've got some time this week. I'd might try to participate.

Sorry but it's a bit unclear to me how to interpret the first wooden coaster....
1) if I'm going up and down on airtime hills, w/o banking and in the same direction, is it considered straight section or not?
2) if, during a normal run, the mcbr does not stop the train (since the next block should always be free) is it considered holding zone or should also be not straight?

Thanks! Only a couple more weekends to finish this in time in time... still a lot to do!

1. - If you put a level on the track along any axis and the bubbles in the middle, then its considered straight.
2. - If its an MCBR then its not a holding zone. A holding zone precedes or comes after a complete stop zone for the purposes of traffic separation or post cycle handling.

"that features absolutely no straight sections of track outside of the station, holding zones, or final brake run."

Let me put this out there.

Mikey has approved that people can team up if they want.
Meaning, for example, a group of 2 could build 2 coasters each, and then put them together for a total of 1 entry and 4 coasters.
Or a group of 4 could build 1 coaster each, put them together for a total of 1 entry and 4 coasters.

Something along those lines are fine.

Here is the catch, the person that UPLOADS the track to the exchange, if chosen, is the one that receives the prize money. That person can chose to share, but that will be up to their sole discretion and will be handled outside of CC with no involvement from CC.

Hopefully this sparks up some more input for this!

There still seems to be some confusion over the wooden coaster specifications so I am going to do my best to explain the requirements in a bit more detail.

The basic rule of thumb is, if you put a 5ft long level on the track and the bubble is in the middle, then the track is considered straight. What this means is basically you must always be climbing or descending and the track must always be banked in a noticeable way. If the level was placed on top of the rail, then in order for the bubble to not be in the middle it would have to climb or descend. If placed across the rail, then the track would have to be banked. If placed on the inside of the rail, or outside of the rail, then the track could not conform to the straightness of the level meaning the track must be in some dimension curved. During transitions from ether of down, left right there will always be some tiny piece of the track that is level on one of the two axis so don't fret on transitions.

Ok, more people doing it than I thought.
I just didn't see activity so I thought it was kinda dead.

I would have hoped somebody posted some teaser shorts or something by now to let us know that they mean business.

That section in the background looks way too straight for a wooden coaster with no straight sections...

^ Indeed it does. It might just be the angle, it could be slightly banked or curved.
