I rode after some of the Six Flags reprofiling, 2002 the first time, and it was a pretty good ride. One of my favorite overall layouts, but the execution wasn't quite there. The first drop was nuts even in the front row, as was the second large drop (after the second turnaround), but a lot of it just came close to being good but wasn't there. After more reprofiling (notably that second large drop) it was smoother but weaker. Unlike any coaster I can think of other than Apollo's Chariot, the ride was a series of setups for large drops. Yes that made for inconsistent pacing, but I don't think every ride needs to be Skyrush or Intimidator 305.

I would've loved to have seen RMC do more to bring the original intention to 2015...including the kink in the first drop (but done better), the surprising second drop after the first turnaround complete with strong air this time, build up to a large third drop again (maybe no kink - with or without the kink - but either way, strong air and a steeper than expected drop), and another large 4th drop with lots of airtime. The ascent on the first turnaround could be around 90* banked, and the hill within the second turnaround could be overbanked like they have now. From there, the original ride stays relatively low and does more standard coaster things. The pacing there should've been faster than it was, but that's something RMC could fix no problem. I think from after the third turnaround, RMC could keep what they have now since it mostly fits what they were going for originally. I don't think the roll is necessary, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Given the use of polyurethane wheels, it would need more lift height to be able to pull off the large drops of the original, but I think that could have been done without increasing the cost too much. Ah well. Still going to be an amazing ride. Can't wait!

^^That kink in the hill looks insane. With enough speed Im sure it caused ejector. I remember noticing a similar bump in Skyrush's first drop, but oddly enough not in Intimidator 305's

Oh Cyclone was pretty viscous. The ejector was insane, but I love the reincarnation even more.

My first ride was front row and I hit the lapbar on that transition. Same with the one that used to be on the drop off the second turnaround. They smoothed that second kink out though, so when I rode last year it was somewhere above 0G the whole way down unfortunately. In the back on the first drop, the change in radius is so fast that it's hard to register what just happened. Definitely vicious, but maybe a bit much. The idea could still be incorporated (and better than Skyrush...not sure what happened there, and I'm not totally convinced it was intentional). One of my favorite drops is that of Apollo's Chariot, because the change in radius and forces is very close to instant when you're in the back row. They could do the same here...have the front row hit 0G and sustain it, and have the back row hit -1.3 or something suddenly and sustain that.

They will. The park's priority is constructing it right now, not painting it. If you look at the lifthill you can see the final color scheme almost fully in place.

Nice pictures. I personally think Wicked Cyclone has the potential to be the best of the RMCs because there's something interesting happening every inch of the track.

It has the perfect combination of speed, inversions, and airtime.

It honestly looks amazing IMO and I don't want it to change. The grey fits in perfectly with the storm theme they are going for.

I forgot to add that the first overbanked turn right after the drop will no longer have that weird lateral support structure, but the second overbanked turn after the stall will have more bracing there.

And the cage support things in the center of the turns are staying!

I saw these earlier. OMG this ride looks absolutely insane! I'm making a special trip to New England for this one.

If you look closely at the theming renders they are being turned into broken satellite towers.
