They did this because there was a media event for the last piece being installed today and they had to make sure the piece fit.

Sounds like that would have been an awesome media event:
"Here comes toe last piece!"
"Ohhhhh... Sorry folks, it seems it doesn't fit. We'll invite you again in 3 weeks when the new piece comes in. Thanks for coming!"
*3 weeks later*
"Welcome back everyone, the new piece has just arrived. Time to complete the track!"
"Ohhh... Sorry again, this one doesn't fit either!" "*Insert random name*, what are we doing wrong?!"
*After media left they realize they insert the track piece the wrong way around.

If I can have one seat from the train, including restraint. I'm happy. :)

First off Hello again to everyone,
I just thought that I??????d throw in all my pennies worth since Carowinds is my home park at only 30 minutes away. After reading the entire thread I??????d thought maybe a perspective from someone who has been going to Carowinds since opening day in 1973 might shed a little light on what we think of Fury 3 2 5. Whether you like Fury or not due to its colors, layout, whatever doesn??????t bother me at all. We are all allowed to have our own opinions and I think it??????s pretty awesome that they can be told here.

I??????d like to also point out that Oscar is still doing an awesome job here, just wished I could have made it to Cali a few times to meet him. Coaster Sims was a long time ago.

Anyhow, the general consensus around Charlotte is the general public is going to go crazy over Fury 3 2 5. We, as enthusiasts have our own little nick picky things we like and don??????t like but I can guarantee you there will be more GP than Enthusiasts that ride it.
I have been waiting, year after year after year, for Carowinds to grow up and become more of a destination park than a regional park. When Paramount bought us I got excited that maybe a cross-breed theme / amusement park would emerge. What happened? There were years of mediocrity. Not everything they did was bad but nothing to put Carowinds on the map.
Then came CF to purchase us and my hopes were shattered as I loved Cedar Point growing up, only living 1 hour away in Ohio and no I won't tell you what years those were, but I knew they would never let anything surpass their flagship park. So again, I figured only 2nd best for us, nothing earth shattering only more mediocrity.
Now, in the last couple years I can see a future for our park to rise into the 3 million guests per season. We had to overcome the loss of so much of the Southern characteristics Carowinds had and eliminate some of the icons we grew up with. Once us locals came to see that the park is not our parents anymore but a park for future generations all is good. Mike is doing his best to keep that southern charm so that's cool.
On to Fury 3 2 5: No longer will people around here only dream of visiting a park with such a massive coaster as they can just take a 1 ?????? 2 hour drive. Many people around here don??????t travel to parks but rather travel to the beach. Will Fury 3 2 5 be the end-all, NO but it is one heck of introduction and will be a heck of a thrill. With the light show they are going to have, the crossing over and under the guests as they enter and exit the park, with the AWESOME turn around and dive, and hopefully speed, it will be different from anything we have. Whether it has any airtime or heavy Gs will only be known when it opens. Will it be 95mph who knows until it runs? I don't care if it's only 90 as it will still be the fastest coaster around here.
As one who has been there for the opening day in 1973, been there for the announcement of Fury 3 2 5, been there for the construction tour at WWU 2015 and will be there on media day all I can say is unless you have seen it with your own eyes and not through pictures and until you ride it in person I would not be to critical to downplay just how important Fury 3 2 5 will be to Carowinds.
Ok, let the hazing commence. LOL
Just an Old Man still hanging around.

You mean the similar entrance plaza planned for your own project?
What are these for?

Well this isn't NL2, and I really like the new entrance.

I also love the new entrance. Entering the park next to perhaps the coolest element on the coaster, not to mention a bridge over the coaster going at 85+ mph? That's an entrance right there, folks. I think it will be even better than CP's when finished IMO
It's been a long time

^ Eh, I don't think so. Gatekeeper is reasonably quiet compared to Raptor, because of the sand. I think this is the same principal here.

It also helps that the train isn't bouncing and thudding around on the track lol.

Is that circular thing part of a brand new entrance for the park or something?

^ Yes, CF seems to be starting a trend of transforming their entrance plazas into interactions with roller coasters
What are these for?

Leviathan was extremely loud when it opened. So loud that they had to fill the lift spine with sand and I think they did the same here.

I really hope this ride has the signature B&M roar that I love so much.

B&M's with the roar enhance the experience I think.

Nope, that's the sound of a Swarchkopf train going through a loop. :)
