Proposed Changes to Rating & Points System

People over there spam this often for a rating.

Then they throw in random numbers.

Personally, I like the idea of the economy system, where it costs more if you aren't active in the community/rating and where you actually pay points to the uploader when downloading. If you implemented this system without resetting everyones points, I think that would be best.

If spamming the forums to get points is the problem can we agree "+1", "cool" "awesome" etc, are not legitimate posts? I know atleast one person who does this does actually care about the site, but to shift through 20-30 threads and the only new post for half of them are just one word is quite annoying. On another note I feel like this implying that rating is the most important way to contribute to the site, I don't know the technical part, nor the business part, but from a logical stand point, I feel that the forum is more important, and decent productive posts is what mainly drives this site. I post here when I have something to add to a discussion, but rating just isn't my thing. Its evident in my first few uploads here all I cared about was the numbers, but I was 15 when I joined this site. At 21, I don't really care about numbers anymore. I do enjoy the feed back of the rating section, but I also prefer the feedback to be during the project, not after its done. /rant/random rambling
