Little thing I'm working on. A B&M launched sitdown coater sitting in a polynesian environment with a volcano. I have posted most of the pictures in other threads, but I'm reposting them here for those who havn't seen them.

The layout

Image

I might change the ending. Everything until the second loop will stay (with minor modifications). I'm thinking about getting rid of that loop, because the pacing in the second half is a bit slow. Elements are (in order):

- 64Km/h kaunch into zero G roll
- Immelmann
- Loop
- Zero G roll
- Cobra Roll
- Corckscrew

Stats are similar to Hulk at IOA.

The theming

Image

As you can see in the concepts, the volcano will be the centerpiece. It will erupt everytime a train goes over it. There will be a splash at the bottom of the first drop. Behind the Moais, there will be a polynesian village which will serve as queue/station/transfer/shop... More to be announced soon.

The plans:

I hope to finish the trackwork this month so I can have a entire month to do the theming. So, estimated release date is end of march.

The future:

A second themed are with an Intamin Blitz. This time Aztec/Mayan theming (kind of a tribute to my older, lost Intamin Blitz, although this time it will be more family oriented).

I <3 it. Maybe you could dig out a small trench and put the loop after the MCBR so you have more going on in that section. I always try to avoid the useless Gatekeeper style block brakes.

Looks fantastic - I'd echo CK's statement - maybe use the terrain to get a bit more pace out of the ride? I like the look of the future Blitz coaster too - the wooden support structure really works well.

Wow this is fantastic!- I suppose this is the blue coaster you used to take screenshoots some weeks ago. Anyway I love the way you plan your projects and think about all the details, did you use a custom skybox?. It seems you've changed the theming a lot, this is one of the points I should improve but ATM i'm still learning FVD. Nowadays I don't have so much timo so I asume this'll take a long journey to perfection.

@Blase Rhine Thanks :)
@Coasterkidmwm and mkingy That's one of the ideas I had in mind. I'll try it out. Thanks!
@elRekko yup, same coaster and custom environment. You can always look for some models on Sketchup Warehouse if you don't have time. Thank you.
@deere839

Anyway, some more pictures. I made a station today because I was bored. Textures didn't work well, but it doesn't matter. They will when everything is finished.

As you can see in the 4th picture, the ride is buried in a trench. You will be able to see the entire coaster from the path.

Thanks for your comments guys!

With each update this keeps getting better and better!

Just a notice of mine, In the second to last picture the support doesn't match up with the footer.
Here is a picture of what I am talking about.

I guess I screwed it when I touched the terrain (along with a few others). It doesn't matter. Since the track will be slighty reworked in FVD the supports have to be redone. Oh, two questions:

- Is there any way to make the footers stay at the lowest terrain level? I mean, instead of them being in the surface of the volcano I want them to be lower. Like it's sitting on flat ground.

- What about loop connectors? Can be done with NL2 or do I have to make them as a 3d model?

Thanks!

@Deere839 it does. I wanted to be realistic. I think it looks like something B&M could have done in the 90s (B&M's golden age)

That nSeven new palm are f*** awesome. From the evolution of the pictures I can see you've changed a lot of the environment. Don't know if it's possible but one super cool thing could you do is instead of the tire launch section over the volcano slope, do the launch into the volcano and then come out of the crater. You can test another colour only for the launch section perhaps it gave more visual enhancement to the coaster.

Please add this as a sound effect. When the ride launches the onboard audio blasts this.

To answer your questions, I don't think there is a way to make the footers stay at the lowest terrain level. A way around that is to 3d model your own footers and just create a support and "attach" it to the custom 3d footer using free nodes. As for the loop connectors you can either use supports (easier method) or you can 3d model them. Either works great. Hope this helps!

1) You could connect the support to a free node under the terrain.

2) Loop connectors are possible using supports, it just takes a lot of effort. The best way I found was to use custom box beams and line it up with the track using free nodes.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Do you think the cobra roll elevated dip portion needs to be lowered a bit?

What do you mean with elevated dip portion? The valley between the two halfs or the small airtime pop before it?

The first half is too long. I know Hulk has 6 inversions before the MCBR but we all know Hulk's second half is anti-climactic and slow. Plus you said it yourself that it felt slow in the second half. I would suggest having an MCBR right after the cobra roll. For example, send it rightwards over the lead-in to the cobra for an MCBR and then finish the second half with two inversions in that back area.

Thank you very much!

Small update, just to show the great logo KonceptArts kindly made for me (on the first post). I'm still working on the layout, as I want trackwork to be pretty good. I won't make a big update until I finish it (1-2 weeks). Scenery should go fast, a week or so, plus the finishing touches... I think I can release it at the end of this month, as I planned. Well, here is another picture:

This project looks super amazing, and is oddly reminding me of old Tomb Raider games.
