If it's a Dive coaster, I really hope it's a tad bit longer than the usual ones.

Something else I've been hearing is that when Tony Clark and the GM were giving a slideshow presentation earlier today, a picture of Outlaw Run popped up for a second and one of them said "Woah, how did that get in there?" This leads me to believe that Cedar Point might be planning an RMC woodie or a Mean Streak Iron Horse in the near future. Then again, they might just be playing with us since they know enthusiasts love RMC.

Sorry, didn't read that. Anyways, if the RMC teasing actually means something, maybe we could see something of the sort at the point in 2018 because I'm thinking that 2016 will probably be the Dive Coaster, but I could be wrong. I feel like Cedar Point would probably want to put in an RMC at one of their smaller parks as a "test dummy" before building one at Cedar Point. They could possibly build an RMC woodie at Dorney Park since they don't have a decent woodie, or maybe they could give a rough woodie like one of the Hurlers or Timber Wolf at Worlds of Fun the steel hybrid treatment, but that's all just speculation for now.

TiePilot keep in mind the plot of land you used doesn't include the giant hunk of concrete that can be shrunk near Blue Streak.

If it's a Dive Coaster and the price is correct, it wouldn't be too much bigger than Sheikra (13m vs 11m respectively if I recall, at work on my phone lol) That's if the price is just based off hardware and theming.

Also, the original rumor for that spot was an RMC. I'd rather see a brand new RMC than another redesign. I know Saying "RMC Mean Streak" over and over makes people feel like they are part of the crowd or popular or something, but they just retracked it.

I'd like to see that Dive go in and a smaller mouse style. At least for this phase. A giant spinner would be awesome as well #wishlist

Rather have a new, not iron horse, RMC over anything else.
A big new RMC.
rather have that then a dive, it would be a better fit for the park.

It's Tony Clark we are talking about here. When it comes to teasing he always pretends to do something the community has been asking about forever. Last year there was a checklist with a bunch of unrealistic ideas.

^ Right. Might as well have a little fun with the internet lol. I'm still smelling the dive coaster, and I suspect it's going to be more expensive than the rumors out there. There is no way CP leaks the cost of a project this early.

CF as already stated that they don't like Flying coasters. They'll probably never put one in. I don't think it's a dive coaster either, there's no reason for them to be starting land clearing this early on. The only other ride they ever started this early for was Dragster, so I feel it will be another massive ride. My only idea's are either a 200 ft woodie or a poler coaster, they seem to be the only thing the park needs that would actually make since to start construction for know.

Remember it was 100% certain Rougarou was going to be a dark ride?

I wonder from when this statement was. Since if you look at what B&M can/will do with flying coasters now-a-days, you actually could get a good thrill ride in.

Yes, Sky Scrapper is awesome and intense. I would love to see something similar getting into USA or Europe. Looking at the amount of flying coasters in the world it would be a great option for Cedar Point to get something unique, intense and thrilling at the same time.

It's not the ride themselves. It's just that they have very slow loading times. They're Vekoma Flyers have had some technical problems too so they just want to steer clear of them

When they bought those flyers back then, they knew it was a prototype and that technical issues can occur. The concept of the Vekoma Flyer was cool but in the end it didn't work out. Would be too bad for CF to leave out a pretty unique ride type, because of a prototype purchase over 10-15 years ago.

That fad is over in the US. Even Six Flags got ever it. They are too much negitaves for the costs for a park like Cedar Point, especially if they get a larger one.

Maverick?

They started laying track by the end of 2006 first of all. And second, nothing up to this point would have required this much terra-forming and landscaping regardless of what goes in that spot. If they are opening a new area, much more will go into it than just "rcting" a roller coaster in, especially since buildings need to come down and plumbing and electrical networks will need to be rerouted. Not everything is solely for the roller coaster whatever it is. Also look at the bulk of the space. It's pretty much in a Dive coaster footprint already. Not saying that any other coaster couldn't be shaped to fit just as well, but typically, that's the overhead shape of a dive coaster. The other reason is that Dive Coasters have yet to kill people. Cedar Point has generally steered from controversial rides. Even if RMC was in the works, I can see them holding off a bit for the Texas Giant drama to cool down a bit more. Not to mention CP is already under fire for being restraint nazis and alienating larger guests without an RMC with media coverage of those exact same problems.

I'd rather see a Gravity Group or Intamin prefab over a RMC anyway. I feel they are much more solid rides, less gimmicky, more varied in elements and more aesthetically pleasing.

Out of those in the discussion how many have actually ridden an RMC? Besides Outlaw Run (wooden Maverick), they aren't really all that special. I feel like whenever RMC gets mentioned I'm in a GP discussion lol

I kinda meant Intamin woodie too. If RMC does come in I only want it to be an Iron Horse of Mean Streak. Anyway it's not like the GP would know that the accident happened on an RMC or realize that Texas Giant even exists!

Maverick started at the end of the 2006 season and opened in 2007. Less than a year. This is starting at the end of 2014 and not going to open till 2016, over a year. Look at Gatekeeper, they only started construction around September and had to tear out just as much and if it was a dive coaster, install just as much. That would simply not take as much time as they're giving it.

^Am I correct in deciphering your last three sentences? You are stating that most RMCs are not that special whilst Outlaw Run is?

Obviously you have not ridden any RMCs, as your logic is completely backwards.

Outlaw Run looks (though I have not ridden it) like a somewhat unimpressive layout compared to their other designs, whilst Iron Rattler is life-changing. It most certainly is "that special"; I don't really even know what you are trying to say.

You can like what ever rides you want but, I have to agree with him that Outlaw Run is one of the best RMC's. The only one that might be better is Medusa or Wicked Cyclone when it opens.

Case in point of people talking about rides they've never ridden lol. I like how I've "obviously" never ridden them, but not riding Outlaw Run grants the authority to dictate which is better.

And no... It's not special. Not even as RMC's go. Not even as RMCs went when it was built. Outlaw Run is WAY more forceful than Iron Rattler, has a steeper drop, more intense transitions, that amazing wave hill or whatever its called, and doesn't lazily spam overbanks for no reason in a circle.

I've ridden Outlaw Run, Iron Rattler, New Texas Giant and Goliath. Also, I've ridden both the Texas Giant and Rattler back in 92 when Rattler first came out.

Iron Rattler has two good drops and a ton of less-than-average overbanks. Apart from the two large drops and the roll Texas Giant does everything I.R. does better. I'd rather have had the old Rattler retracked and refurbished to how it was when it opened. It was a longer, and still more intense ride.

At least when Outlaw Run was new, it was new. Now RMCs all do the same things. They are already cliched and its not even five years yet. That may be a record for running out of ideas haha.

Don't get me wrong, Iron Rattler is a great ride, but it was at the cost of a potentially better one, shorted by 1.8k feet, and not much different than a coaster a few hours way in the same chain in the same state with less airtime and a shorter run

^This. If you like it, that's great. I like it over a lot of other rides. But many rides are still way better. Ride then judge

Medusa is the #2 coaster on my riding wishlist after Smiler currently. Wicked Cyclone is #5 (scratching that one in august and TC in June btw)
