For the lazy bastards:

Kolmarden Zoo may not permit to build a roller coaster. ?????sterg??????tland County Administrative Board cancels the Municipality of Norrk??????ping decision on building permits, which were taken last fall. County Board rejects the zoo's application for planning permission on the grounds that it requires a detailed plan before the question can be reviewed.

Norrk??????ping Municipality granted Kolm?????rdens Zoo AB planning permission for a roller coaster October 8, 2014. The decision has been appealed by several parties, associations and individuals.

According to the master plan is the relevant part of the area designated as a zoo. The area lacks detailed plan. Roller coaster is supposed to be placed directly adjacent to the existing zoo. The plant will be located near nature reserve and area of ????????????national interest for nature conservation and outdoor recreation.

The County Board believes that the roller coaster will have a major impact on the environment. It will, among other things, to change the landscape, cause increased noise levels and affect the traffic situation. Therefore, a detailed plan in place before the roller coaster can be checked by a planning application, consider the County Administrative Board.

The decision can be appealed to the Land and Environment Court.

From what I've heard, it sounds like Wildfire could possibly still open, but will be delayed and not open in 2016. It stinks because it definitely looks like it will be an insane ride, so I hope that it at least gets built some day.

Ouch. You'd think they would apply for permission BEFORE announcing a project.

Looks like RMC just freed up a 2016 slot. Any takers? How about you Cedar Fair? No? Alright sold to Kentucky Kingdom!

You would think people would learn from SFNE's 'Dark Knight' Permit Failure LOL

From what little bit they said, it sounds like they did get a permit for Wildfire which was later cancelled. Not everything is so black and white. Great Adventure has and is still having similar problems with Zumanjaro. For GAdv it seems they got full permission, then late in the game after the ride was built, the state came back and said it couldn't operate with Kingda Ka. Then on top of that, the park had to wait for Zumanjaro to get inspected, and to make it even worse they were stood up by the state on media day. They can't say it was the state's fault, because they needed that relationship because the state was already a problem given the KK/Zumanjaro working together issues. They'll also need to go through the state on every subsequent addition. Seems Jersey screwed them over a good bit, because it cost way more money for Zumanjaro to open than it should have given they apparently had permission to run it as it was, which also affects future rides like for this year and maybe later too. Not saying GAdv did everything perfectly, because chances are they did not, but you can see how there are lots of things going on behind the scenes with a large installation like a roller coaster.

Of course I don't know the accuracy of everything, it's all just me piecing together things I've read online, but it all makes sense given the timeline of events we saw during and after construction.

It doesn't sound like permission has been definitely denied, the higher level planning council wants to see more details.

Damn, I never thought a park would be dumb enough to do this.
I think even Six Flags files for permission before announcing stuff.

Dark Knight coaster at SFNE I believe got rejected after the building started going up.

They did get permission, it was just later rejected by a someone else and now someone higher has to approve it. Or something like that, I don't understand Swedish government. It will probably get built eventually though.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.
