I've checked Gouldy and you're due to lose against Derby @ Molineux on Friday 20th March - so if you're planning on drowning your sorrows obviously Sunday may be preferential?

It's either drowning itself in sorrow or in victory.

Sounds good. If it was an opening it would be a Sunday for myself. Would love to attend my first enthusiast meet, I'm pretty sure my friends are fed up of my coaster geekdom by now lol. Also would depend on travel from near Birmingham. ;-)

Ahh, don't be so sure, Derby have dropped off the pace a little, and we're undefeated now for 7 games, having won 5 of them. Having said all that though, the match in question is on Sky, and we're always DREADFUL when we're on Sky.

Either way, win, lose, or draw, Saturday 21st will be fine for us. Works really well that that match is on the Friday because of Sky. Put us down for either the Saturday, or the Sunday, as we're flexible at the weekend!

Haha indeed, Derby faltered towards the end of the seasons last year too and to be honest I'd rather see Derby lose anyway!

I live Bearwood area and Gouldy lives Wolverhampton which is like a 10 minute train journey from New Street so I'm sure getting a lift from one of us won't be an issue!

Double post but:

Thorpe Park have announced their opening days - Thursday 12th March! Which would make the weekend the 14/15 March. Obviously we don't have to go on that weekend if it doesn't suit people anyway.

Ticket Prices are as follows:

Booked tickets in advance:
Thorpe Park - ~?????29.99 (Not sure - this may go up with more sales/closer to the date)
Alton Towers - ?????36.90 (Brought 7 days in advance)

I think we'll start the final organisations mid-February - Jammy are you a definite then? PM me if you want to discus transport arrangements - I'm pretty certain we can sort something out!

Nice! What are peoples thoughts on parks? I prefer Alton Towers for obvious reasons but don't mind Thorpe, may be easier for international peeps to get to. And not quite a definite yet mkingy, just got to work things out but that's great about the transport, I can easily get to Birmingham. :-)

I'd quite fancy Alton Towers - it's closer for me so I don't have to get up quite so early :D

Currently checking the flights to the UK for that and I see some really cheap flights. Anyone willing to pick me/us (since I might drag my crazy mom along as well) up at Londen Stansted on Saturday morning and drop us back off on Monday morning?

If so, Thorpe and Alton should be in pretty sure . :)

Just to clarify Dirk - would the plan to be to hit both parks or just the one?

If two I'd assume you'd need transport to both parks - (ie. I think the original proposal was to do just one park although I could be convinced to do both - especially as we'd be down in London to pick you up on the Saturday :P)

I'm reasonably happy to do the drive to pick you up - although you have to suffer the 'not so roomy' Yaris! hah.

The plan would be to hit both parks then. :) Still need to ride the Swarm, 13 and Smiler. So would be a great opportunity. (Meeting weekend! )

Right my misses is okay with me doing both days so I'm down to hit Thorpe Saturday and Alton Sunday - Unfortunately I can't offer you a place to crash as we've already got guests that weekend! I live in Birmingham so ideally that'd be base point for staying!

I'm cool with driving you where you need to go though!

Wow, that is awesome, Thanks! We will compensate some of the petrol costs for you. (I do hope there is space left in the car for my mom as well?)

Everything is set now for us, flights are booked. Arriving at 07:10 on Londen Stansted and departing on Monday morning at 07:35.
Now only left to book a hotel for those 2 nights near Birmingham. (Got a place to recommend? )

Would love to go, especially to meet Dirk for the first time. But I can't. I'll probably be going to Thorpe in April if anyone's about then.

Newsflash, these parks aren't Six Flags and aren't in Texas. European parks are still open with running rides, even if there is snow. I can know since I've had plenty of rides in the snow.

Ahh that's a shame. Not sure I'll be able to hit Thorpe Park in April (although I may try and convince the missus :D)

Not long till we'll be celebrating Nemesis' 21st Birthday! Check out this footage with a partial POV of Nemesis before it was fully themed.

Awesome! I looked a lot different before all of the foliage went in and grew. The ride is so settled in the environment now that it's almost part of it.

Looking forward to this, really been missing having my Merlin Annual Pass, so two park visits in two days sounds like the perfect remedy
