Powerland is going to get a new coaster for the 2015 season. The construction just started:

That's really awesome actually. The second half is really strong, which you don't *always* see from Gerstlauer these days. The dive loop/loop combo is sweet.

That's not a Norwegian loop. There is a complete vertical loop in that element. Norwegian loops enter and exit going in the same direction.

At first glance it looks like a Norwegian. Wish it was a 3D rendering.

Looks like a dive loop into a incline loop to me (shaping would be bizzare if it were a normal loop) - like Rick said would be nice to have a 3D model or something. Layout does indeed look really good - these infinity coaster look like Gerstlauer are making a solid portfolio of larger scale rides! Any word on the train arrangement? Are we talking Smiler style 4x4 or Karacho style 2x4?

No it's indeed a vertical loop. But it's a round loop. :o

I thought it was one of those roll over loops (like on HRRR) when I first looked at it, but nope, there's no roll there. It's just really bizarrely shaped...

FINLANDIAN LOOP!

I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the loop shaping. Maybe it's to keep the G's from being too much.

I'd call that squashed inversion "The Oval" it will be put for the hang time!

Reminds me of Thriller's loops.

Playing devil's advocate here.... It IS just a rendering, and from the looks a rather quick one at that. the loop/incline loop/non-inverting loop, will probably have standard shaping whatever type of loop it is.
What are these for?

That looks like a sick layout! Very strong throughout the whole ride!

That's what I thought at first too. But I think both the angle of the drawing, and the fact that we're accustomed to see tear-shaped inversions leads us wrong.

As for the rendering, no, it seems pretty solid. Look at the supports, they are realistic. Not like the Impulse animation for instance, where you could tell it was only a preview.
But I remember the first rendering of Iron Shark in which the shaping was way off from the final ride.

Yeah the layout is almost definitely legit, like straight from a CAD program. You can even see shaping details like heartlining. I don't think that's hand drawn or anything. Too perfect.

Also the loop is new to the real world, but not new to us...I believe Buster did it years and years ago on a larger scale. You get anywhere from 0G to some negatives (but lower magnitude than -1 as you'd get on a flat inverted piece of track), and you can sustain it for longer than a normal loop. I'm surprised we haven't seen something like that in real life sooner.

Also a good way to keep the bottom of the loop from being too intense. The positive G spurts should be interesting.

Tsunami's first two loops are round too, actually:

This is different. It's elongated over the top, so the radius gets smaller, then increases, then gets smaller again. It may have a bit of a parabolic shape over the elongated section too, hard to tell at that angle. The loops on thriller don't increase in radius, they stay fairly circular. Similar result, just not as pronounced as the Gerstlauer will be.

I enjoy this layout more and more every time I look at it. I love Gerstlauer's miniature dive loops and it looks like this ride has one. This ride actually has a lot of cool elements ugh.

Although the image is a bit vague, I'm callin' it now: that stunt after the dive loop is sort of like SR's flying snake dive! Dive loop, curve up and to the right, roll leftward, continue rolling into corkscrewy looking thing, and dive down.
