What's the longest you've waited in line?

Just wondering, what's the longest wait time you've had to endure waiting in a queue line to ride a coaster or thrill ride? I'm curious about this because each enthusiast seems to have a different tolerance level for waiting in line.

The longest I've ever waited in line was for Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great America, 1 hour and 15 minutes. It would have been only an hour long, but it broke down for 15 minutes right when I was about to board. Second longest, is a tie between several different rides at few different park. Yep, I've been spoiled when it comes to wait times because at my home park Valleyfair, wait times rarely go over 30 minutes (unless you go on a Saturday in July or August).

Back when I was in 7th grade and took my first trip to Cedar Point I was next in line for Maverick and the ride broke down. I ended up waiting 2 and a half to 3 hours for that. And Top thrill dragster I waited 4 hours same day. The next day made up for it though because the longest I waited was about a hour or so for MF.

My mother and I waited exactly an hour for Mantis back in 2001... I've never waited close to that for anything since haha.

im pretty impatient when it comes to waiting in line. If the wait is too long I will just skip it and maybe come back. I always ask myself, is it worth paying ~$50 to stand in line all day? the answer is almost always no and I move on.

like VF15 said it may be because my home park VF has no customers ever.

My worst was in 2007. I waited 5.5 hours for Kingda Ka to be fixed. I was the 2nd ride after it re-opened.
But my worst is probably Dragster. I've waited 2-3 hours for it.

The longest I've waited in line for any ride was probably 2 hours, I experienced that twice (Space Fantasy @ USJ and Tower of Terror @ Tokyo DisneySea). I can be patient while waiting in line for a good ride, but my expectations do increase the longer I stay in line. Still, when we went to ride Forbidden Journey in Japan, we saw the line was about 4 hours long and I thought... Nope It's a shame the line was that long back then as I'm sure the ride's really awesome.

I don't really pay attention to how long I waited so I just kinda estimate since I don't usually have a time piece, but these come to mind:
-Probably at least an hour and a half to around 2 hours for The Beast at night. Wouldn't have been as long if they didn't stop operations just to see the fireworks.
-I remember waiting in line for an hour and a half just for a crappy, sketchy looking kiddie coaster one time at the same park (this one.)

there was this weird inverted coaster at my local theme park in Belgium, the ride was pretty awesome but had HORRIBLE capacity, I rode it on opening day and waited 5 hours at least, a week later the ride was destroyed because everyone hated it

Perhaps you mean the defunct coaster named "Vertigo" at Walibi Belgium?

For roller coasters, its probably a tie between storm runner and el toro at about an hour each.
Harry Potter and the forbidden journey definitely beats them though with all the themeing throughout the queue it didn't feel like the 2 hours I think we waited. It was also well worth the wait. Dudley do right falls was also quite a long wait since my trip to Orlando just happened to be the week it reopened. Also worth it.

2 Hours for Sea Odyssey at PortAventura in the "express" line in 2007. It broke down right after we got off it.

When I first went to Drayton manor as part of a school trip I waited 3 hours for G-force because of the huge number of other schoolchildren there. We were only there for 7 hours so I didn't end up getting on much else.

2 and a half for Millennium a few years ago. Not something a plan to do again.

Between Disneyland, and Six Flags in the summer, I'm pretty sure I've waited 3 hours at one point.
Now I won't even wait an hour at SF ever, Disney's another story. Lines lines lines

I waited 3+ hours for Behemoth the day it was opened to the public. It was extremely boring but it was well worth it!

Maverick @Cedar Point, June 8th, 2007...the week after it's opening.

My friends & I had just waited about 2 hours before we finally reached the top of the steps leading onto the station platform. We would have been the next batch of people walking up on the platform but before we could, the ride was suddenly closed down. A few staff members began to wipe some of the seats down with whatever cleaner, the the ride-ops ran the trains empty twice. Turns out, that some girl didn't know there was a second launch and thought the ride was over so, she took out her phone to try and text someone....then whoosh...train rockets through the second launch, her phone flew out of her hand and hits some girl in the face a few rows back. The ride ops were actually wiping a little blood off the seats...That made us wait an additional half-hour. They escorted phone girl off the platform as well as the girl who was hit with the phone...her head was wrapped with a t-shirt and she was crying something awful.

I waited probably close to 3 hours in 2000 for Stealth when it was 'the world's first flying coaster' at what is now California's Great America. It was popular, low capacity, and prone to downtime. Today that park has neither of the 2 Vekomas it once did, lol.

I mean how could she have thought the ride was over? It's not like you are sitting in that tunnel for long...

My longest queue... Hmmm... I'd think that was about 5 hours for Rip, Ride, Rockit. The ride had constant breakdowns and since we've seen the entire park already. We figured we might as well keep queuing for it. The longest queue for a kiddy coaster was a little over an hour at Disneyland in Tokyo. What you've got to do for a coastercredit...

The longest I??????ve waited so far was 2 hours for Wodan at Europapark. Luckly the concrete caves on the queue are quite cool even in summer.

In general, I always ask myself whether the ride is worth the time you spent in the queue. For example waiting 30 minutes for Krake at Heide Park is by far too long for me but 30 minutes on Colossos is ok because a 150-seconds Woodie full of airtime makes up the wait more than a 20-seconds dive coaster with no felt forces at all.

By far the best queues for a ride are the ones at Expedition GeForce. I??????m there 10 or more times a year but have close to never waits with more than 10 minutes.

1 car with 8 people creeping up that lift and over the holding brake had an interesting effect on the queue line. The only progression was the people giving up and chickening out and leaving the queue.

I feel like Maverick used to sit in the tunnel (and even sometimes stop) for longer than it used to now. My recent rides have been a decel to 10 mph for a second or two and then launch. But either way anyone who would think to take their phone out...you know, I'm not surprised at all.

I think my longest wait for anything was an hour and 45 minutes for Maverick. Over the years there may have been a longer one I forgot about.

Dragster: 2nd day of operation (2003): 3.5 hours (Front Seat)
Maverick: 2nd day of operation (2007): 3.5 hours (Front Seat) also had downtime would have been 2.75 hrs

Ironically, I don't wait more than 15 minutes for anything anymore lol (Unless I'm with outside friends)
