B&M isn't known for having supports added or relocated over time like Intamin is lol.

Yeah, I'm sure B&M designed it within safety restrictions knowing their experience in the field! :P

This ride looks absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad B&M are varying the layouts more! I love the idea of these close to the ground, high-speed turns mixed in with a few airtime hills and high altitude elements to mix things up a bit. They seemed to be going stale but have seemed to have turned it around since building Shambhala, in my eyes anyway.

Also, much love for that bloomin' gorgeous strip lighting. :D

Yeah looks okay - a bit drawn out in places but then that's a POV for you! I'm sure it'll actually ride great.

^The pacing in the forward POV is *way off* from the ridercam POV, the difference is quite notable (as much as 5 seconds by my comparison).

Looks pretty fun. If I'm ever in that area, I'll certainly check it out. :)

Well yeah. That's what rider weight does to a coaster. When they took the POV, there may have been a few (or no) water dummies. Then the rider cam had a full train.

Makes me wish they would film the front POV with a full train of people and accept the background screaming.

I didn't want to start a whole new topic just for this, and Carowinds is also getting one of these so it is technically relevant, but;

It looks like Canada's Wonderland will also be getting a slingshot! :)

Oh no, Fury is supposed to open to the public in 10 minutes, and it's been stuck on the lift for 20. This is bad...

Such a bad luck! Hope they get it running soon.

Anyway, about the ride. I think it's an improvement over Leviathan, but I'm not sold. There are two parts that kills the ride for me (from a NL designer pov):

- The overbank before the turnaround. It looks forced, it doesn't flow like the one before. It's like Maverick's stengel dive but made wrong.

- The hill/overbank after the turnaround: that straight exit... is ugly and looks boring.

But I think it's a good choice. General public will love it (which is the most important part) and they've done a superb job with both the entry area and the lighting. Also, transitions seem to be a bit faster than most B&Ms, which is a great thing in my opinion.

Opening day! I almost forgot, actually. This went up really fast!

^I actually like the element you first mentioned, and I think the entrance to the turnaround (with the banked top) flows quite nicely. However, I do agree that that one drawn out straight-ish section is a low point (right before the airtime hill). The section is too long and it's a moment the pacing briefly tones down.

I've been hearing that Mike Fehnel (Carowinds' GM) was interviewed by a local news channel yesterday, and he said "Cedar Fair officials hope to make Carowinds a roller coaster mecca". If he means it, then that is great news for the park. Carowinds definitely has the potential to be another coaster mecca, and it could mean that Cedar Fair might be dropping the mentality of "Everyone must bow down to Cedar Point". Should be interesting to see what this actually means.

^ I don't think Cedar Point will ever not be bowed down to, I see the potential in Carowinds, but they are not going to build another Strata coaster, making Cedar Point still the King.

In other news, Kings Dominion is having a rough opening day for the general public just like Carowinds yesterday...

Don't get me wrong, Cedar Point will always be the chain's flagship park, I just think Cedar Fair is now willing to put in record-breaking coasters at parks other than Cedar Point, which is a great thing.

^^ They have reluctantly done it. But now they realize CP can't do everything, so they let other parks take some records.

^They actually have a list stating which parks are priority. I don't remember the whole thing, but I know Cedar Point is #1 (obviously), #2 is Canada's Wonderland, and #3 is Carowinds. Those 3 parks get the highest investments so that's why they get the best rides.
