Database Rollback - 4/18/2015

All,

Sometime Thursday the server running Coaster Crazy unexpectedly ran out of disk space which partially corrupted the sites database. Over the last few days we have tried numerous times to repair the database as a whole but have not been able to have assured success. In order to insure data integrity it was necessary to roll the database back to a nightly backup made Thursday morning which is the latest backup we have prior to the event.

Unfortunately this means any posts or topics that were created after the time the backup restored was made will need to be restarted. Additionally if you uploaded a track between then and the time of this post,you will need to re-upload it. Based on a precursory look at the file system, only the following tracks were impacted.

On the other hand, I remember a few years ago when it would crash and we'd have to rollback at least weekly for a while there....so, I mean, it could be worse

my Funland park disappeared and is not on the list of effected files. do I need to re-upload it?

Hmmm... too bad about the rollback. It looks like a few long posts of mine got lost due this. Oh well, it happens. At least we didn't roll back a full week.

Check the log me on automatically box next time you log in.

I have uploaded my park but now all the screenshots show up as the coaster before me's pictures. YETI screenshots are on my park but I uploaded my parks pictures. how does that happen?

That Sudden Rollback did give me an instant shock, but I had a lot of fun setting my "lost" post count back to a previous level! Mission Completed! +

So the wrong pictures for the wrong tracks is a known issue. Hitting F5 and Ctrl F5 a few times seems to clear up the issue. After a few more tracks are uploaded, the issue should be gone.
