Restarting this topic since it was accidentally deleted last night.

Something I've noticed among coaster enthusiasts is that some of them don't seem to have that much fun at their home park (for various reasons). I'm just wondering if the same thing holds true for most CoasterCrazians.

My home parks are Valleyfair and Nickelodeon Universe, and I wouldn't consider myself bored with them yet, probably because I haven't lived here long enough yet. I enjoy both parks very much even though neither have any coasters that really stick out in the coaster world. If VF was open year-round, then I might get bored of it. However, it's one way that the half-year offseason might be a good thing because it makes me appreciate the half of the year it is open.

I get kinda tired of visiting Holiday World despite only going once a year when I do go, so I can't imagine how tired I would get if I visited it as often as Kentucky Kingdom. Hopefully that will change this year since Thunderbird will be fresher and more exciting, and a welcome change from adding mostly waterslides. 3 wooden coasters, 2 of which (Raven and Voyage) I like better than the other one (Legend) which I still kinda like, were the best things there.

If Kentucky Kingdom counts as a park rather than a carnival (see current signature) then that too, particularly during the time between the two Ed Hart eras. Things were added to the dry park as often as Valve releases a new Half Life game and the rest were all waterslides. Rides were also removed regularly, which accelerated the boredom as well as making me think of a carnival.

That feeling is downplayed nowadays since we actually have new stuff in the dry park now but the majority of that is kiddie rides, and I'm not sure if/when they can add a new coaster after Lightning Run without tearing something else down unless they can somehow expand. Given how often rides have been removed/relocated throughout the park's history (even a small amount during Ed Hart's regimes, and also including thrilling marquee attractions) how can I be sure of the future of any of the current rides? I am surprised T3 and Giant Wheel haven't been relocated/scrapped by now, but how long will they remain before something takes their place? I also have that same question about Lightning Run. Or any ride, no matter what it is. I wonder if removing a waterslide would be out of the question. Taking down Deep Water Dive would just be a sin. Reminds me of those stories where anyone can die.
Course, there's also the fact that it's a large waterpark with a small park large carnival attached.

To restate what I said in the old topic (curse this rollback!) , even though SFGAdv has a world class lineup, I've been there so many times I do find myself bored sometimes. It's good to visit different parks once in a while!

I get bored of Boulder Dash and Bizarro sometimes.

I also get a headache if I do a lot of rides in a short period.

I love Valleyfair. Even after visiting 17 times last season, my yearning is renewed. It might have a little to do with the new waterslides, but that's usually how it goes anyway. I love the park :D

i don't get tired or bored of SFMM, to many rides.
But really it's because I don't ride everything when I go, again too many rides.
I can finish the park in the day but I usually don't.
So every time I go I get on something that I haven't been on in a while.
Plus the selection is better than anywhere else.

Hmmm... I'd say getting bored is the wrong term for me. I'm enjoying my homepark(s) on a whole different way then I usually do.
Normally I'm in on coastering as much as possible and experiencing all the bigger/better thrill rides when visiting a park. But after having done that so many times in my homepark, I'm more enjoying the park on a calm pace. Just riding some rides occasionally and enjoying a drink or a terrace with good view on some entertainment. So pretty much take my time around the park without rushing to get somewhere.
Although, it does a bit vary on with what group I'm visiting. If I'm visiting with some fellow geeks who like to marathon some rides. I'm in for that as well. :)

I've had a try to uh... take an "on-ride" nap on a sunny day. I of course did that on some refreshing track rides, not on "speed-against-wind" coasters, though. Good 3 to 4 minutes!

Well although my home park Enchanted Kingdom (in the Philippines) is actually a really good amusement park with a pretty nice variety of rides, I do sometimes feel like the park's sometimes missing some awesome stuff overseas [like dark rides (I thought Journey to the Center of the Earth @ Tokyo DisneySea was absolutely phenomenal) and of course awesome roller coasters]. We actually haven't gotten a new roller coaster ever since the park's opening in 1995 (20 years ago)!

That being said, do I actually get "bored" of my home park, as in do I actually lose interest in my home park and get tired of going there? Hell no. I absolutely LOVE my home park! It's a place where a lot of my awesome childhood memories were made and it's the reason why I love theme parks and roller coasters right now. My home park is one of the very few places where I can spend the entire day in and be absolutely certain that I will be leaving at the end of the day with legitimate joy. There is no way that I'll ever lose interest in my home park.

Wonderful story about your home park! How is the drop tower named "Ekstreme"? Good or bad? I love that ride's TVC because people in an elevator shout "Ekstreme!" when they see "G" in the floor panel! :)

Larson drop towers like EKStreme are insane! I've ridden an Intamin Gyro Drop Tower in South Korea which is about twice as tall but EKStreme is still easily much better. (Even my schoolmates who were with me agree!) The transition from 1G to 0G is much more sudden which makes the airtime far more noticeable. Not to mention it seems to accelerate faster than a Gyro Drop tower, and it doesn't even stop at the peak before it drops back down!

My home park waterpark with a carnival attached also has a Larson drop tower. Fun to wait in line and troll the people who are riding by shouting "you're almost there" when they're not, or vice versa, if they can even hear me. That kinda eases the sense of being tired of the collection of rides.

Well, my home park has the following for thrill rides:
- A relocated Arrow Looper from the 70s
- A Pinfari wild mouse from the 70s
- A local built chairswing

Even the haunted house is better (granted it was directed by the people behind a certan successful horror franchise here in the Philippines, or so I read), so it gets a bit boring but okay nonetheless. I just want to go to the opposite side of the country and visit Amatsu's home park :D Granted I don't live that near my "home" park (6 hours awaaay) and I never visited it often, so I don't share the same sentiments as Amatsu. I wonder how I even got into rollercoasters!

Six Flags New England can get pretty boring - Since they haven't had a new GOOD ride in ever. But damn guys I think WC can quickly change that for another 5 years. :)

I've done that a few times in my coaster career, especially at my home park/work (Six Flags Over Texas). Can't say that I have been bored, just hot and wanting to ride as many water rides as possible during the summer.
