A lot of people on here seem to live by the "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" motto. But, I'd much rather people that get awards and always get nice comments to tell me what's wrong with my work, so it can get better.

I was told to create a thread so the other threads don't get too cluttered, so I figured we all could benefit from said thread. I'd like for people to post pictures if you feel you could use some ideas, pointers, or rule of thumbs, then maybe, one of the more experienced Nolimit 2 Coaster Crazy members can give said ideas, pointers, or rule of thumbs.

For example, I'll go first. Can you help make my "Unrealistic Coasters" realistic?

I'm trying to make inverted connectors like the picture below. I tried to use the invisible track segment, but it doesn't look full like the picture above. I've gave up as a result.

Is there anything you'd add/change/remove?

I did it by connecting suspended vertical connectors to custom sized box beams to get the effect in the pic. It's not perfect but it "worked".

OK, Thanks, Coasterkidmwm.

I gave it a shot. It's ugly up close, but it looks decent at a distance.

I tried it with the four connectors, but it looked weird up close. I never thought to look at it from a distance when I had the four connectors. I have three connectors, now. I tried the suspended vertical, but it has 2 nods off the end of it. The nods in your picture looks to only have one, like a single straight down, though it does look like the bottom connector is a suspended vertical in your picture.

Your loop is much too circular. It should be clothoid shaped like in the following pictures. Since your loop is enormous, you should scale it as the loops in these pictures are much smaller.

By the way CK, the connectors are a little different for inverts, as the whole thing is connected to the spine. Unrealistic Coasters, it will probably help if you just guess and test and keep changing/modifying it until it fits correctly.
It's been a long time

:D Thanks, Coaster Hero.

I usually create tight loops, but that's not a loop, per say. I call it a Zero G-roll loop,

Image

Should I still tighten it up?

Here is a loop I usually go for.

Are these loop supports good for a Chinese knockoff coaster?

^^^Since it's a strange element I'd just make sure the G's are in check. Making it more tear drop shaped should help cut down on positives, but may mess up the forces at the top. I'd say if it stay's below +3 except for brief spikes it'd be fine.

^^lol togo, that's perfect.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

OMG. The more I tighten it, the more I fall in love. The G's at the top are still close to nothing.

Unrealistic Coasters, make sure you rotate the beams for the loop connectors and make a bunch next to each other to kind of fuse them together. Guess and check until you get the angles right (this will piss you off). Also as far as loop connectors go, someone should really see if the angle it takes to rotate a footer in line with the track is the same as a box beam. Might save some time. Glad the loop tightening is working out for you.

The intamin invert in Spain still has more complicated supports than yours Cool5, so they look fine.

^^ I felt that I could soon start adding beams and supports on my complete tracks after looking at this surprising or shocking (in a good way, though) image! This encouraged me, thanks!

I know how to do them when the track is like this.

I need to change the color and better position it, but it's 10x better than...

Question.

What are the cubed max pictures typically used for?

Oh, I apologize. I was just showing my struggles. I have them done in those pictures two type of ways.

This is what I came out with. They're short, but they look the best.

Can you believe that coaster is just an hour away from my city and I still haven't ridden it? Last time I was there they had two Schwarzkopf... I must go there soon.

Can anyone recommend repeat numbers for terrain?

I've re done that whole area.

I'm absolutely for this twisty vertical loop! "Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit" should have made that flattened inversion into a clothoid shaped one. :D

Getting better overall. It's still "fanned" but, a little better positioning of the connectors should help.

It's a fun ride, it has hangtime in the loop. :)

I like the idea behind this topic. This is the, only criticism allowed topic. Neat!

Time to give criticism on the criticism topic them: Aren't usually topics in the hard hat area for criticism on your rides?

The problem you are having is using straight support on twisted track. It's not going to align because the spine itself is twisting and the support is a straight line... Try breaking it into shorter segments and adjusting those accordingly
