Although this was supposed to be my entry to Build It! (Contest hosted at The Creators Loungue) I realised I wouldn't be able to meet the deadline, and decided to turn it into a "full time" project.

Image

Project Chaos is a Maurer AG X-Car coaster featuring two 100km/h launches, three inversions and a bunch of positive and negative forces. I'm going for a steampunk/mayan theming, playing with those theories about mayans coming from outer space and all that stuff. This would be mayans second coming to Earth. The idea is they came again on 19th century and built a machine that could control all the elements.

Image

The layout is the final one, although I'm going to rework it a bit so I can use three cars trains (right now laterals are too high with that setup). I will also reduce intensity a bit, but it will be the same elements in the same order.

Image

The ride will feature water and fire effects, tunnels and some near misses during its course.

Here is an overview of the area. As you can see it's quite big. It should be covered with theming and buildings soon.

And here is a POV. I already posted it in the "What did you do in NL" thread, but I'm sure not everyone of you have seen it.

More details, artworks and updates soon. Criticism, comments and suggestions are welcome. Hope you like it :)

Side note: I'm still working on Hraesvelgr and Babieca. I made an scale error and I have to delay the release date. Hopefully the first one will be released before this month ends.

Ahh I love it! I'm definitely digging the Steampunk/Mayan idea it seems like it would work quite nice together.

Can't wait to see more!

Oooh, so this is the Maurer I saw a couple days ago? Looks completely different thanks to the added scenery! Looks great! I think the Baron colors look really cool.

Very creative use of wooden supports. It goes well with your theme you set up I did notice why you decided to rework the layout, because in the video at 20-something seconds I noticed the roll transition was a tad bit quick. The element at 0:50 was very flowy, and I like it a lot. It seems a bit Fury inspired ;) .

Well, those wooden supports were just placeholders. As you can see in the screenshots, they have been replaced with those green bridges (which are also placeholders, but closer to the real thing). I have a very cool concept for them. Thanks!

Yeah, inspired by the new Maurer track at Freisch??tz. It still needs more work, as it isn't completely accurate to the track, but it's a good start.
