Port Aventura will invest 100million Euros in the construction of a new area dedicated to Ferrari. It will be called Ferrari Land where it will be placed in the resort of the park. It is still undecided if it will be a theme park with its own access like in the case of the typical theme park or if it will be part of the rest of the complex. The new area is the fruit of the arrangement signed today between Ferrari and Bonomi Investidustrial, the owning company of the premises.
The park will be the second Tarragona area dedicated to Ferrari in a leisure complex, after having the first in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Ferrari World. According to forecasts, the park will open in 2016. The Ferrari Land will fit in an area of ????????????75,000 square meters and will have new attractions inspired by the Prancing Horse and designed for all ages. In a statement, Port Aventura ensures that among these attractions, "the highest and fastest vertical accelerator (roller coaster) in Europe" will reside here. Besides the park, in the new area which will also be "the first Ferrari theme hotel", five stars and 250 rooms, restaurants, shops and "broad areas of race car simulators," the statement said.
Opened in late 2010, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi park covers an area of ????????????200,000 square meters (86,000 of them covered) located next to the Yas Marina circuit. The inauguration was attended by Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who gave the first round to the Formula Rossa rollercoaster, which is the icon of the park. Andrea Perrone, managing director of Brand Ferrari (the company that controls the activities related to the brand), says that after the success of the park in the UAE, the brand had received "many requests to build new parks "and they have opted for the complex of Tarragona is for their" strength "and" the opportunity to bring the spirit of Ferrari to Spain, where we have many fans and supporters." Perrone also highlights the opportunity that the new park will "strengthen the brand of Ferrari in Europe."
Port Aventura recalls in his note that Ferrari has been ranked for the second year in February as the most valuable brand in the world ranking in the Global 500 Report and Port Aventura has been considered the second "major resort destination in Europe and the first of Mediterranean ". Port Aventura annually receives four million visitors, half of them are foreign tourists. The resort has invested 125 million euros since 2009 in the playpen such as expansions to S??????samo Aventura, Shambhala coaster (the highest in Europe) and Costa Caribe Aquatic Park. The new fairground Tarragona would add to the leisure with which promoters have BCN World project to support its future complex of hotels, casinos, leisure and shopping.
