Sounds cool but I wonder if it's on a specific website that I don't have an account on yet and don't want to join just for that 1 thing or if it's not limited to just 1 site like the Screenshot Saturdays.
That sounds super exciting! Too bad I'm working on my own "real" (I wish!) roller coaster so I might not have much time for this. Good luck to everyone who decides to join though!

The site states that the coaster will be built in "a top-secret location in the UK" and should be similar to the Coney Island Thunderbolt. It also states that you should be at least 18 years old to join (meaning I'm disqualified by default But eh, no matter, I got my own NL2 project to finish!)

And I'm slightly confident I might know where the top secret development location is, just based off of the shape of the building, if it is in fact and already constructed building. If not, then I've no idea.

Also, not entirely sure how legit this is bear in mind, I've seen countless contests such as this but none have come to fruition. I'll probably still give it a go but not entirely sure on the authenticity at this stage.

It still might make a fun creativity exercise regardless, tho if I did enter then I might second guess my ability to deal with the anxiety of pending results. EDIT: I just read Jetpulse's opinion of it on NLE and I can kinda see why someone would doubt the authenticity.
I'm not sure I doubt the authenticity - as Jammy mentioned to me these sort of things pop up a lot and end up not going anywhere. Ride_op also confirmed that there is some legitimacy behind the project:

We helped the developer setup the contest and design the requirements. The logo is from the developer. Details on exactly where the project is going can't be shared yet, however they have been meeting with coaster vendors. Thunderbolt at Coney Island is the main inspiration for this project. We can't share much more than that at the moment. As always these projects are subject to change, however we received enough information to go forward with helping set this up.
I won't use the template but I will make my own building template and make it taller and put a jet coaster around the top of the building. This contest inspired me to make my own Japanese version of the contest building!
I'm slightly confused. What company is making the coaster? Have they not decided yet? As I understand it from this qoute "Winning submission will receive design credit for creating the layout and will get the chance to work with the final selected manufacturer on the finished ride layout." They haven't decided on manufacturer yet. What do you guys think?
I think the NL team is trying to keep the name of the exact ride manufacturer a secret. I don't think it's actually that the park hasn't decided on a manufacturer yet.

I would guess Zamperla since they said Thunderbolt inspired it and the track has to be orange with white supports, haha. But the examples they give show x-cars and Fahrenheit.
